Review R13: The Good, Bad and Ugly vs. Richmond Tigers

Thanks for posting those comments which are proof positive that Cornes, for all his experience, is an idiot.
However, I just can't agree with your remarks below:

Nothing Cornes said above is worth considering plus I doubt he has any clout within the Club.
Also, nothing will change? Ever? :confusedv1: :sadv1:
That's a nihilist's extreme position.
I'm as low and disillusioned as I've ever been about the Crows but I've got to believe that changes and improvements will be made.
For starters:
--- Roo's gotta go; he has way too much influence within the hierarchy which translates negatively to the Coach and playing group.
--- Kelly is useless; sack him.
--- get rid of VB, Burns, also Godden, Wright and Bello all of whom have "Development" in their titles at which they've failed miserably. Rahilly was a huge loss.

As for Nicks, nice bloke, dud senior Coach; the playing group is going nowhere under him. Many have regressed.
Many promising Juniors have yet to be given an AFL game. Others are played out of position (too many to list!) or have their spirit and creativity crushed (Curtin, Pedlar, Rachele). Meanwhile he continues to favour ineffective scrappers like Murphy and McHenry and turn-to-water-under-pressure feebles like Sholl, all the while keeping the faith with cooked underperformers like Smith and Laird.

Nicks --- nix tricks, game day bricks, ticks no boxes, confusing selection picks, I see no fix.
I’m backing Rowie before Prune Face

Trading down to pick up mcasey while leaving serong on the table is a good one also
Wait... lets' rewind back a whole 12 months earlier to examine the entire madness of this.

The prior 2018 draft we literally gave up (ie. completely threw away) our last first round pick to Carlton in a swap to move up 5 spots in 2019 to be in a position to pick... McAsey.

If we actually didn't do that and use that 2018 first round pick for... someone in the so called Super Draft, the following year we still would have been in a place to take... Will Day.

That sort of stupidity is what's holding this club back. That's as much if not more on Reid than Ogilvy. We need a total clean out and reset.

Graham Cornes running with:

"Why is Tim Silvers getting heat?"
"This isn't John Olsen's fault"
"I fully support the re-signing of Nicks because if you didn't re-sign him, imagine the heat on the club"
"Too much hysteria"
"People like Stephen Rowe are not objective"
"You can query some board appointments but who cares who it is, really?"

This sums up everything. You guys realise that absolutely nothing will change even if people move in and out, right?

He's awful to listen to.

Did you notice Strachans tongue hanging out. He was buggered. Doesn’t have the fitness to ruck on his own. Should have played both rucks to change it up a bit.
This!!!

Play Strauchan and RO resting the other up forward. We love the long bomb and don't have players to grab it.

Burgess no, Borlase (was pretty good but no), Gollant. Himmelberg is good in the role

We need 2 talls and not waste the spot on a Murphy or McHenry

Nicks has always been a small player coach. Thats why we have a severe lack of tall players compared to other sides. It works well when we dont get injuries to those players, but a couple of injuries to our talls really hurt.

Without any emotion attached to this post....the club is completely ****ed from head to toe. We have coaches who are complete and utter ****ing morons who shouldn't coach mini league. We have senior players who squib every contest and disgrace the guernsey. We have arrogant cocksmoking administrators who prance around like they have something to brag about.
The club needs a ****ing clean out of the highest proportions.
They can all go and get ****ed.

I submit this for POTY

Reid traded 9 and 18 for 4, that's a good deal (especially when we'd already taken 2 top picks on 2018). It's not on him to use those picks for good players.

Keep hearing how brutal a ruckman Nankervis is. Does he beat up on other rucks week in week out? (I don't watch many Tigers matches) Going on results he certainly doesn't help them win many!
So I'm just wondering if there's anyone Strachan would be better matched up with?
Thought he went OK against Gawn in that one game he played in 2022...maybe he caught him on a bad day!
I'd just really like to make a case for him getting another go.
There was genuine excitement in members seeing him take that mark...followed by a fluid kick at goal.
I just want to feel that again.

He definitely has that reputation. Not in an overly dirty way, just aggressive. Gives away over 1.5 free kicks per game. Super fit too, usually has over 75% TOG.

Anyone else still laughing at McHenry handballing onto the back of a team mate running 1m in front of him?

Sums him up right there. And he's got a lot of mates that aren't up to AFL standard.

The whole club really needs a shake up, or this rebuild may go on forever!

5 Shai Bolton (RICH)
5 Jayden Short (RICH)
5 Noah Balta (RICH)
4 Tim Taranto (RICH)
4 Toby Nankervis (RICH)
3 Luke Nankervis (ADEL)
3 Jordan Dawson (ADEL)
1 Liam Baker (RICH)

Really odd pool of votes - no real consensus between the coaches. Good to see Nankervis get the credit he deserves though.
