Get him out of the forward line. Start Marshall, Georgiades and Lord working together.

Play Dixon in the ruck until his ankles are dust then delist him.

Glad he was so happy after the game.

Wish we had walker over this guy. We probably would have had a premiership

Not that you'd trust the AFL gossip style FB pages, however one of them are suggesting Dixon has been told he isn't a guaranteed selection anymore and the club are keen to run with Marshall, MG & Finlayson (and keen to play Lord)

If that's true, Hinkley has obviously had a lot of control taken away from him.

I don't want to paint all of them with the same brush but to see the likes of Jonas and Lycett last year and Dixon and to a lesser extent, Boak this year is just that Cronyism filtering down to the leadership types on the field.

Is there any other club playing completely banged up veterans?
We're too weak of an organisation to call time on anyone. If the AFL didn't save us from ourselves by enforcing a minimum of 5 list changes every year, we'd still have Jesse Palmer and Nathan Blee going around.

This is unfair. Hinkley has called time on Cucksissy, Schulz, Westhoff, Jonas just off the top of my head.

Dixon is a debatable selection given he's 1 of 5 average key forwards on our list all competing for the same spots.

Boak is clearly still best 23, it's impossible to argue otherwise.

He will go down as one of our top 3 tall forwards.

This is true. I think it says a lot about how hard good kfs are to find.

He may be in the top 3 now, but Todd is on track to pass him for total goals kicked well before he reaches Dixon’s age, while being a much less ball dominant player who can share the forward line. Mitch as well.

And did we win anything in those years? As I said - recruiting him was a mistake. He came with a game plan that has never won a thing.

Recruiting him was the right thing to do.

But he’s underproduced in his time here thanks to the coaches shitty gameplan and his stupidity in playing into the hands of the opposition. Why he bought into the idea that trying to wrestle a mob of blokes is the best way to take a mark while blokes like Hawkins with no more footballing capability do the obvious thing and play the ball is beyond me.

Hes been a good to very good player who by every right should have been a great player.

I would do that trade over again and again

Watching him on Thursday night was painful.
Whatever edge he had he’s lost.
If Ken is truly ‘learning’ he won’t play Dixon again unless it’s an absolute emergency.
Time to slug it out in the SNAFL until he pulls the plug.

"He lives his life a quarter mile at a time. Nothing else matters, not the supporters, not the club, not the team and all their bullshit"

As usual you have misrepresented things to serve your point.

Charlie was 25.5 when he played his first game for Port. Todd and Mitch were both 18 IIRC.

This is where output vs quality &/or you know what you are getting and it gets you nowhere comes into it.

*Makes me think of Sewer de Lance 's thread I'm sure McGuinness, McDermott, Anderson & A. Jarman were still statistically viable when Blight lopped off their heads.

Jonas? They played him until he couldn’t run he was getting towelled up in the SANFL way past his use by date.

This:

Also Charlie had only played 65 games by Todd's age, whereas Todd has played 109. An additional 40 odd games.

I wouldn't say Todd is necessarily 'on track' If Todd plays for another 6 seasons he would have to kick 32 goals a season to overtake Charlie at 1.4 goals a game. That's barring injury etc.

So Todd is on track to better Charlie’s total goals before he reaches Dixon’s current age and I didn’t misrepresent anything ?

Cool.
