They surely would be in the equation. They won't be able to offer a tall forward but they have picks and some handy players. Maybe they don't have the money?

most clubs are going to be in the mix, carlton are just in the box seat due to their draft positioning...

i don't think money is going to be the decisive factor in this one... judd isn't after bucket-loads of cash, he just wants to come home... the important factors are the club he wants to play for, and who is willing to offer him the most at the draft table...

i really hope he wants to play for his childhood club the dees...

Re: Judd Press Confrence [leaving]

If i remember correctly Judd was a Rabid Melbourne Supporter as a young fella, what sort of deal could the deamons put together for him... Captain in their 150th year, plenty of cash now and endorsements later......but what have they got as trade bait, a couple of Range Rover Discoveries and an unlimited lift pass at Mt Hotham perhaps??????

Russell Robertsons still got a couple of years in him, chuck in pick 4 and pick 17 or whatever it is they have and you may have a starting point

cause west coast are so likely to just let him go for nothing, you idiot JD.

pick 3 and fev would go very close to getting the deal done.
Think outside the square.
Nothing said about PSD, you just seem to underestimate how powerful it is in negotiating a deal which is not going to be easy.
Judd wouldn't actuallt want to go to Carlton if Fevola wasn't their either would he;)

Re: Judd turns back on Eagles

Not with Priddis lifting his game. Cousins, Kerr, Priddis, Braun, Stenglien, Embley, Rosa, Butler all sufficient. Could also through Waters and Hurn into the middle now.
WC are a proud and smart club, they'll continue being in the top 4/8 and challenging for flags

Re: Judd turns back on Eagles

you seem to be forgetting one thing: judge isnt coaching anymore, so we wont be picking up absolute hacks like bower. yes, we pciked up mark merenda, but woosha isnt that dumb...he not going to take bower, whose an absolute goober

Bower isn't a hack was AA CHB in under 18's and when given game time at the end of the season looked pretty good

QFT

This man knows his stuff

Excellent track record

LOL, like his annual Goddard to Carlton speculation?

His Kosi to never play again "good oil"?

Not to mention his annual predictions of "we're back".

Some people are easily conned.

WC signed Judd on an agreement last contract time that if he wants to leave they wont squash him...
And trust me.. if WC dont make a deal stick they will be the biggest osers ever.... and he wont be at Richmond...

Its pick three and something to be agreed upon... and believe me were not a charity.... we hold the cards.

Er, no, we hold the cards. There are a number of clubs we can send him to. That deal is reliant upon other clubs coming to the table with a fair trade. He was a 3rd pick in one of the best drafts of all time and he has turned out amazing. This is a weaker draft. Why would we trade him for another 3rd pick and "something to be agreed upon". We have not spoken to Carlton about a trade, so all you can know is what Carlton wants to trade for him. So, in reality, that means SFA.

If Carlton give the eagles Fevola then they are very stupid. Could u imagine Fevola in the eagle forward like with the like of priddis cousins and kerr passing him the ball. He could kick easily 100 goals there.

I know you like browsing the Carlton forums JD so you'd be able to see his track record

There are others too who have posted information which if you look at their track record are most of the time spot on

I'm in tears. Our premiership captains wants to leave. A bad day for the club
Aside from the banter on BigFooty, the anger, the gloating, the deal making ... this is one side of footy that grates on my nerves. The business side of it always tramples on the emotional side of it. Kids grow up idolising to these players and it can all be taken away in the blink of an eye. My sincere wish is that Judd stays with the Eagles where he belongs. If he has to go though, I would welcome him.

Until I see the press conference, I won't believe it. Amazing development, especially if he comes our way...

well it is an interesting question isn't it. Fev is going to be 28 next year and realistically, even with Judd we wont be a contender for another 2-3 years. Fev at that stage will be 31 and probably past his prime.

If we traded Fev and picked up Kruezer, we would then have him, Kennedy, Fisher and Waite as key forward options and Judd still only 27-28.

Looking at it that way, Fev going may not be the worst thing. In saying that i'd prefer to keep him but i would imagine given the position of WCE, Fev may be the missing link to take them to premiership glory for the next 3-4 years.

Just thinking outside the square

It's not 4pm yet - hence I'm still allowed to dream, too :

West Coast will get : M Maguire / X Clarke / No 25 Pick

St Kilda will get : C Judd

Damn, I'll wake up in less than two hours with Judd in a Carlton jumper...

As a Carlton supporter, I'm really, really worried about this.

Judd was hampered by injuries this year, a shell of his best at times. Still a great player, fantastic football brain, but he could barely move in the finals. Now he wants to leave, and West Coast appear to have allowed him to slip.

Good teams don't just let the best player in the competition walk out - not when he's the most marketable player around, has captained the club to a premiership and is still young. I suspect they know the injury is worse than we all know, maybe degenerative, and the Eagles feel that the salary he'll command won't be worth the money. Now Carlton are offering $7million over 5 years to a guy who is potentially carrying a serious injury?

Don't get me wrong - I'll go nuts if we get Judd, particularly if we get a good deal (which we might considering our PSD position). It would make Carlton instantly relevant again, for the first time in 7 years, and you would have to make that move every time. But its a whopping risk as well...
