Re: Judd Press Confrence [leaving]

This trade could set West Coast up for the next 5 years.

What I would like to know is how Carlton will be able to afford him by offering $1.5 million a year. Are the taking into the consideration the improvement of their other young players in a couple of years time? How could one player take up that much space in the cap?

Not sure that it will set up West Coast for the next 5 years. The whole thing about West Coast's midfield is that they've got 3 absolute top notchers in there, and you just can't take 3 taggers into a game, so someone's got to get a free run. If Judd goes I believe that brings them back towards the field, especially with Cousins close to 30. Granted they've got the best midfield depth in the league, but you just can't replace a player like Judd.

Anger?

I'm happy he's doing a number of West Coast. They deserve it.

I'm happy too you'll morgage the future on another Kouta deal.

I'd be more worried if Judd was going to a contender.

Lets just say he will be on the same money as Hamill.... salary cap wise..truly...

Its the package.
People arent understanding this.... forget the 1.5 mill.. he will be on the same as he would have at WC..

Itsnot just about Pratt.
Keep telling yourself that THS.

I suppose it's just co-incidental that Vodafone are signing on to Carlton at the same time they've landed a massive contract at Visy?

How much is Judd's mum being paid for her new position at Visy? :D

How many players were lining up to go to Carlton before Richard Pratt?

In fact, they were lining up to leave.

Yeah, this has nothing to do with money.
One guess if that a certain someone is quivering with rage at the moment at the thought of such a good thing happening to a club like Carlton, especially in the same week as Vodafone defects from you to us. Dress it up any way you like, but its your jealousy that will eat at you while the rest of us celebrate.

Oh course, your club means little to you, the only thing that matters to you is being anti Carlton. I'm absolutely loving this

EDIT: And just think, if your mob didnt beat St Kilda, according to your theory we would have had no reason to lose against Melbourne, resulting in a second top draft pick and possibly Judd. Even though I'm vehemently anti-tank, the thought of that is just so delicious. So thanks St Kilda!

That's ridiculous - I am reading this at 4 pm Melbourne time. How can this be announced at 6pm , that's still two hours into the future?? What are you smoking??
The news conference will be at 6pm Melbourne time, it hasn't already been. So basically until the conference, this is SEN projecting what is going down ... i.e still unofficial.

Are you stupid??

A press conference has been called for 4pm in Perth. That would make the Press Conference 6pm EST.

What is so hard to comprehend?

wouldn't think we'd give up pick 1.

pick 3 and fevola would just about get it done, maybe have to throw in 20 or another player

I agree.

Cant see Carlton parting with #1.

#3 and Fev + fringe player is the more likely scenario.

Why aren't the Dees in the equation? Didn't Judd used to support them?

Surely they'd have a crack at him.

They surely would be in the equation. They won't be able to offer a tall forward but they have picks and some handy players. Maybe they don't have the money?

They did pretty well on Friday night without any of those 3. Kerr will be back next year Cousins should have 3 years left in him. Their other midfielders look the goods aswell

Re: Judd officially gone

Seven reporter Dylan Howard has just announced on SEN that Judd will leave the Eagles and a press conference will be held at 4pm Perth time today.

Is this Dylan Howard's saving grace? What happens if he is wrong for Dylan Howard?

I'd laugh if the press conference started, Judd walks out and shouts "Punk'd you bitches! Just signed a 5 year deal with the Eagles. Thank you and good night!"
So would I actually. If we get him, I will be happy. If we don't I will still be happy. It is very much a 50/50 call given what it will cost us. It probably means better results immediately as we would be adding Judd and a returning Stevens to our midfield in 2008, but the long term cost and salary cap concerns are extremely worrying. If they all start playing well, how do we keep under the cap when Murphy and Gibbs want their share?

I can't believe this! You always think that these things are possible, but I had no idea!

All I hope is that any Judd deal won't hold up the rest of trade week, because you know it will.

Wonder if Essendon will try and find a coach quick smart so they can trade for him? :D
