I know this has been well publicized by now but I just came across these images which illustrate why Judd's character never has and never will be put into question. Breaks his nose, blood dripping everywhere and unable to breathe through his nose while blood runs down his throat. For him to go out there again and almost help us record a famous win was simply astonishing.
For those squeamish, look away now.

Sensational effort. Blood streaming down your throat has to make hard to breath, let alone the nose being blocked up. And kept finding the footy, especially at clearances.

Saints scored all their second half goals when he was off the ground, with the exception of the Montagna one (and possibly Dawson's)

I think Before The Game showed the wrong footage. The contact didn't look forceful enough. The article on the CFC website all but confirms it was Browne. Not that any of this really matters :p

Judd was amazing the other night, what a brave and courageous effort from an inspirational leader.

Teams often develop a theme around such an act of bravery that carries them forward - what, if not this, would inspire every player to stick his head firmly over the ball or back into a pack for the rest of the season??
Absolutely brilliant!!!!!!!!

As for clashing heads with skipper Chris Judd, which left the superstar with a broken nose, Browne said it all happened a bit too quick.
"I didn't really see what happened. He's just a courageous player and he puts his head over the ball," he said.

So we have the footage on BTG that pointed the finger at Aussie, and then this article on the CFC website.
I honestly have no idea, but the Austin contact didn't look too bad.

The curious case of Christophers button continues....... ;)

I don't know if it was courage or stupidity that made Judd keep going back out there when he was obviously not right, but he proved to his team mates (if they ever doubted) that he is a Blue through and through now.

With so many young kids in your team, just seeing their leader put on an effort like that will be more beneficial to them than any rousing speech a coach could give. They will know that anything less than 100% is not accepted by their captain because he never gives any less.

I just wish he was on our side, we would be more unbeatable than we already are. Kudos Juddy.
