what judd lacks now is the x-factor, highlight reel stuff. the freak goals and unbelievable evasion are in his past, and they wear eagles colours.

the funny thing is, thats the only thing most victorians used to see of him each week. and now they think that he has lost a yard of pace and cant do it anymore, they think he is gone.

but what your left with when you take away judds x-factor and evasion is what eagles fans saw and carlton fans see every week. the best in and under clearance player in the league with an amazing clutch ability.

now the cynical might saw "right so what youve got is matt priddis with no hair and a massive trade table and TPP cost" and thats not tremendously far from the truth. but he is and was massively important to carlton every day he has been there. seriously a guy with that sort of quality and professionalism (ie, eagles quality and professionalism ;)) is exactly what they needed from the morass they were in, and he is the perfect senior player to lead all these young quality players by example.

he is the ultimate club culture development tool. imagine if martin, reiwoldt, deledio, rance et al had chris judd leading them at training for the last few years? has richmond even got anyone that has stood on the dias and hoisted the cup? let alone a premiership captain, brownlow and norm smith medalist?

and being paid a huge amount outside the cap and under the table means that he is pure cheating carlton arseh*le now too.

Seriously, why is he being played if he is injured? Questions over Ratten for me now. Seems like they're happy to run him into the ground. If he is not injured and he put in a half like that (S Selwood 16 touches v Judd 6) then he needs to be moved away from the midfield because he is a liability. His direct opponent is killing him.
If Chris Judd was fit and firing Carlton would be right in this game, if not in front. I hope for the sake of all true football fans that there is a pretty bad injury, and Carlton are just making him play through it. If not, Judd is gone (still hoping for a miraculous second half recovery from him though!!).

hinderance to his team tonight. When they needed their overpaid leader to step up, he let the team down numerous times. Hope they drop him.

Stick a fork in him, he's done.

Judd's selfishness is really catching up with him. You're gonna have days where it's not working for you, so he has to learn to contribute somewhere else, like take Selwood forward and try and make the possessions hurt. But he can't/ He refuses to learn forward play and just wants to trounce around in the middle. Well, this is what you'll get. Every other top midfielder in the league is learning forward play, but not you Mr. Judd, apparently it's beneath you.

He was given a talking to by Ratten at quarter time and you could see his effort lift in the second quarter. He was hunting the ball, demanding it. Unfortunately he still couldn't get near it in close and was doing things that appeared selfish (leading for a mark across the face of his defensive goal - correctly ignored). He's injured and needs a break - he'll get one so hopefully he returns fresh.

Ahhh, the old 'player X' is playing poorly so he is injured. Judd has been playing pretty average football for the majority of the year. Think he actually needs Murphy in the side to balance out the tag every week. I feel for him, but random Bigfooty posters shouldnt be making excuses for him, especially the injured excuse. You cross that white line, you're fair game and not immune to criticism.

don't know about finished, but was absolutely shithouse tonight. remembered more this game for his bad efforts and mistakes than doing anything good.
hopefully will come back somehow refreshed after the bye.
Finished in the sense that he is no longer the superstar that he was. Still a good player obviously but nowhere near the class of Pendlebury and Ablett.

Even worse for Carlton fans is he didnt run, he didnt lead by example, he just folded out there like a piece of origami.

He dropped his bundle in every single way. If he played a half competent game it would of probably changed the result

Juddy really is at the bottom of the barrel right now.

We have seen his worst output in a carlton jumper tonight and his worst 6 week period.

He is labouring with groin problems I have heard, needed a week off at the port game which couldnt be afforded due to no murphy and carrazzo so he was asked to play through it, the bye will be handy for him. real handy.

I think he needs to be used more sparingly, we may need to get his forward ability up so he can spend 20% of the game there, atleast until he gets his body right from having no pre season.

will be interesting to see what happens.

never ride off a champion though

Dont know what has happened but with Malthouse coach next season he wont need to be Captain and Coach .

Female Caller to talk- back radio reckons Twiggy is really home-sick , does that me we get Juddy back for Masten ? Hope not
