Yeah - which part confuses you?

Besides, I don't really complain about people saying that Rich will be a gun.

I just get annoyed when people reflexively compare every junior to Voss or Ablett or Goodes or whoever.

It's like people can't describe a player without erroneously bracketing with them a champion. It's tiresome.

Couldn't agree more...

At the Essendon board all they talk about is drafting Rich and compare him all the time to listed players in the AFL.

It really frustrates me how its only round 10 and anything can happen in the next 12 rounds...

Since round 6, people have been saying we're tanking and that we should pick up Rich in the upcoming draft. The Bombers board had just gone downhill since the start of the season. I cracked it with some of our posters and got 2 weeks off for it.

Getting onto Ebert and Masten, Masten has been rated very highly, I see him as been a great player for you in the next decade or so and he'll be very valuable in years to come.

Ebert, he has had his share of been rated too early in his career and I see him as been a very good player for you guys as well, its even better for you guys cause he has much more to learn about footy and still he's a very good player.

Your teams drafting has been fantastic lately, you guys are really lucky and you should thank Carlton for it. Kennerdy has been supperb for West Coast as well, I think you guys got more out of that trade than Carlton did.:thumbsu:

haha you and i both know that's not what happened mate. you resorted to asking me how many _____s i've sucked, that's why you got banned.
on a lighter note, the bombers board has gone up a notch without you around.

Where did you say your Girlfriend worked again??

I'm on the WestCoast Board to talk Footy not Bullshit!

Wait... Have you said anything about footy lately?

shame that a late season emergence of ebert may prevent us from nabbing rich.

rich, masten and ebert would make a handy trio.
We'll still be bottom 3, so will pick up a decent player either way

Big game from Ebert against the Saints.

It's a pity Masten is out injured. Hopefully he's 100% for next year.
Agreed

Would've been nice to see an injury free Masten running around, but that hasn't really happened at all this year. we;ll be far wiser about how good a player he will be this time next year

I will say Ebert just on the fact that people around the club say he works harder than the rest of last year draftee's.

Although Masten when he lifts his work rate, could show some good improvement.
His op has restricted his work program in the gym, although I still think he needs to work harder on his upper body.

who needs ebert and masten when we have hurn, who is potentially far more potent and damaging. 6 foot 2, 98 odd kilo, dashing, tackle busting mids with 60m pinpoint kicking dont grow on trees. With Voss's tutelage, and hopefully his advice to keep him out of the backline and give him a paddock on the wing, he will become a gun. Just needs some more endurance, probably lose a couple of kgs and improve overhead marking, and he will have a cooney esque breakout. BOOKMARK IT!

Hurn needs to improve a fair few things - mainly things that come with experience though

what a bloody beast he is going to be once he is fully mature though

If Hurn, Masten and Rosa can stay injury free next year AND we can pick up Rich AND Ebert and Scott Selwood continue to develop as they have this year AND Matt Priddis continues his good work (been down a bit in the last couple of games, but still a leading tackler) the Eagles have the makings of a good midfield. Throw in the "wildcards" of Arrowsmith and McGinnity (whose to say that they won't come good ?), A fit Sam Butler and Houlihan and the future of the Eagles looks good !

Thats a lot of BIG ifs

Potential Elite: Masten Ebert Rich
Potential A Graders: Hurn, S.Selwood, Butler
Depth: Priddis McGinnity Rosa Davis Houlihan

You can never have enough Elite midfielders, the more the better. Get Rich. Get Swift.

Its unfair to judge Masten on what he has produced so far. I'll rate him when he is fully fit and playing alongside Ebert in our midfield next year.

Masten is still eligible for rising star next year too which is a good incentive for him.

His work rate is what cause him to have groin problems in the first place.
