Traded Chris Yarran [to Richmond for Pick 19]

God I hope we get Lennon to come into the PSD just to hear you unjustified haughty little Tiger bitches squeal

But late to the party? Article in the HS with direct quotes from a source within the club saying that Lennons name was never thrown into the ring for Yarran, and the club is very close to signing him up.

Seriously sad typical post.

How so? All along majority of half decent Richmond supporters have been saying that a early second round pick is Yarrans worth, Carlton supporters saying nothing but a first round pick or top player, now more details are coming out and it's looking like us Richmond supporters were right in suggesting second round worth, and Carlton severely once again over rating it's players.

So you're saying what Richmond supporters rate him at actually means something? Like your opinion that he's only worth a second actually carries any weight?

Who cares what you rate him at, that has zero bearing on anything.

Until Lennon signs, Richmond can say all they want.

Countless articles have stated that we have offered our second, Carlton rightfully so asking for more, middle ground will be met and we will more then likely upgrade our second to an earlier one and satisfy Carlton with a trade.

Corey Ellis for Yarran?
Perhaps Tigers 1st Round and late 2nd Round for
Yarran and Blues early 2nd Rd

C Ellis is IMO one of our untouchables, kid is pure class.

Carlton will receive a second round pick, how early is the question,, Brisbane apparently very interested in Astbury, we will most likely upgrade our second round pick in that trade to then on trade that to Carlton for Yarran, so pick 20 or 21 for Yarran, which IMO is very fair.

Now that Lennon is unlikely to go, we can start looking at other Richmond players that could satisfy a trade.

Shaun Grigg is currently out of contract and yet to re-sign. In the 5 years he's been at Richmond he's massively improved his defensive game and is now a 20+ possesion, goal a game mid who can shut down an opponent. Also dominates the hitouts. He would be a good pickup for Carlton.

Obviously a straight swap wouldn't get it done, Carlton would need to chuck in a serious sweetener.

Yarran + pick 18 for Grigg would be fair.

Is that a joke? please tell me it's a joke? You're putting up Grigg, a player we hand balled to you who is getting old for yarran and more specifically pick 18 (a vital pick in a rebuild). Grigg isn't worth pick 18 alone, he's a 25-35 pick.

Yup...If we can get an early second, that'll do it quite easily (Carlton might even pay some of his wages to sweeten it a little).

If not, our second+ a fringe player would probably get it done (which is effectively what we'd use to get the early second anyway).

Actually, that could work...Losing Henderson, Carlton could do a lot worse than picking up Astbury, so instead of trading him to Brisbane to upgrade our 2nd, we could just cut out the middle man and include him in the Yarran deal.

I know where our list it at, you thinking you can keep the same side and win a flag though.. your club has to go after players if it wants to get close to one and if that is a contracted player you have to give up something decent. is that so hard to understand?

The only player I rate on the Blues list worth pick 12 would be Cripps and definitely not Yarran. Possibly the following would be a win for both clubs and the Lions.
  • Astbury + third round pick (48) for Lions second pick (20) + fourth round pick (56)
  • Pick 20 for Yarran.

So youre pretty much trading Astbury for Yarran? Atleast try and be realistic.

Well we may have to offer more to the Lions, but I would say pick 20 is Yarran's value.

Why when he is contracted would we let him leave for 21? We could just wait until next year get a 2nd rounder and get around the same pick in a stronger draft? Plus i think brisbane will send 21 our way for Bell but thats another issue.

Your coach did say he won't stop anyone from leaving.

Edit do you expect to finish bottom again as you say around the same pick?

I gave it a read and she states yarran and shuey are very unlucky to miss out putting him at what pick 14-15? At 24 years old with still such a high ceiling and contracted and about to enter the peak of his career you think he is closer to your pick 14 or whatever it is after academy selections or pick 32? did ya even read it m8?
