I Was kidding pick 19 still gets you a great player, many blue supporters a few days ago were saying pick 19 was useless
yeah its hard to make a call in this instance until it happens...and then a year or two down the track to see if the pick establishes itself.
certainly has a bit of a chook lotto feel this year once you get past the first dozen picks..

Safe to say it was a failed backflip.
Should never have tried the double, SOS.

That's 270 degrees in total, FYI.

Yeah, not quite 360, but he stuck the landing.

the richmond gloating is somewhat out of whack.
carrying on like theyve won the biggest coup of them all is beyond me... havent won anything! its a trade for farks sake... who knows what we pluck with #19...could go on to be captain/coach! I wish... ;)

Maybe if we didnt have a heap of carlton knobs telling us 12 or nothing and that we are a joke at the trade table then maybe, just maybe you might understand!

much like the richmond knobs telling us he wasnt worth a first round pick...around pick 31 if i recall. and that we are still a joke considering you got what you want... i do understand.

A bargain, I hope. But better than what a speculative pick in the 70s likely would have got us - particularly as our midfielders have problems tackling a dummy
Looking forward to it. Hope you get the same from whoever pick 19 brings you.[/QUOTE

You're right they haven't won anything and they are used to not winning.

12 or nothing they said, SOS is so strong they said, SOS is setting an example for contracted players they said, Richmond will cave they said......we never said 31 or nothing, you guys look like the joke.

Change of club will do him good, should be a better player at Richmond. However, a change of club won't make him grow a brain or heart.
maybe a chemist will help

Well looks like you seem to agree with me...
I never said he is a gun. I didn't want him at 12 but 2 picks in the 30's or 19 I'm fine with. has talent is lazy will have to see what happens. and I never wanted him off hb. hf on the other hand

Conflicted about this. On one hand, glad Carlton didn't get 12 for all the chest beating. On the other hand, it would have been pretty funny if the Tigers had failed to anyone at all this trade period.

Still, guess this way we can all watch the Tiger train come out of its shed again and get hyped for their 2016. ;)
I know Townsend isn't much, but he's something.

If trading out a player who had walked out on the club, who had been dropped twice that year, didn't make their best players in one game that year and has a history of poor attitude and performance for a top 20 draft pick is a loss.. I'd love to see what you consider a win.

Regardless of what SOS said in the media, I bet he is very happy with what he received

In the end I think it's a fair trade. I thought 19 was about what Yarran is worth.

What is funny though was how SOS was adamant that 19 wasn't enough. A large proportion of Carlton supporters were saying it's 12 or GTFO. SOS should stand by his guns and keep Yarran if 12 isn't coughed up. Yarran is worth more than 12. Richmond desperately needs him or the rest of the competition will rush past them. Force him to play in the VFL next year to make a stand.

Once the deadline neared SOS lost his steely resolution and capitulated. All of a sudden Carlton supporters started saying it was a good trade for a player who has a poor attitude. That Carlton shouldn't retain a player who doesn't want to be at the CFC. He's not going to make a difference to the Richmond side anyway.

Pretty much a 180 turn between 1pm and 2pm today.

After this trade week, when Yarran is still at Carlton, who do you think players leaving their club are going to believe?

Where's that eating popcorn gif when you need it?

It seems like you went off too early. It looks like players will believe they'll have a better chance to get to Richmond.
Don't worry about the popcorn, try some humble pie.
