Traded Chris Yarran [to Richmond for Pick 19]

You'll be calling for another one of our rejects next year? ;)

and like most players that leave your club, making a good player of them.

Just think, if your club could actually retain players, you'd have a decent team....Instead, you have, 'the exers'

Been a long time coming but good to get it done. Both teams probably get something fair.

Will take it as a Richmond win though, Dan just showed SOS he's got a bigger set of balls! :D

Richmond 3 wins over Carlton in 2015 (revenge for Hampson). Bring on 2016! :p

No mate a 360 is doing a circle..a back flip would be a 180 :p

Actually in a backflip you end up facing the same way. So it is a360, just head over heels rather than round around. Actually that works for SOS, head over heels tumbling into a situation he didn't understand and he ended up not only getting what was offered ages ago, but missing his main target. :p:D:thumbsu:

Safe to say it was a failed backflip.
Should never have tried the double, SOS.

The way I see this is what are the likelihood of a Yarran quality player being taken at pick 12? Would you be happy to draft a player like this at pick 12? The likelihood isn't overly high and you would be happy. Yarran was a pick 6 who has become a good footballer.

Yarran is a player in the early stages of the prime of his career, is proven and a known quantity. Pick 12 could be anything, it could be Richard Tambling.

Why not make sure of it and take an established 24 year old, who when he's playing well, which he will if Richmond are any good at their trade, is easily worth pick 12? Or are you rebuilding and chasing really young guys?

Yarran is worth Pick 12.

It reminds me a lot of this. Tigers want a Yarran type/quality player, but pick 12 (mystery box) could be anything! It could even be a Yarran type.

Judg Yarran on this season and your foolish. Geelong clearly stated they were going to judge Henderson on his best football because they back themselves and Henderson to play to that level. That's why Geelong have been a great club and were willing to pay full price to get what they want. Like Henderson, Yarran has been out the door for the entire season and didn't put in, that and he's not a great player in a weak side.

Speaking of good sides, Hawthorn were happy to swoop in and hand over pick 15, and take him, no worries, but Yarran knocked this back. Goes to show the differences between Richmond and Hawthorn here. One club gets what they want the other can't get their head around. Doesn't know the value of players/picks. Doesn't know whether it's coming or going. Richmond have never been good at trade week. Not like Hawthorn, Geelong, Sydney etc. have been.

We've seen what Yarran can do when in a competitive side, he's one of the better attacking half backs who can go forward and kick goals and play off a wing. We know what his best is like. A good operating side would back themselves in and the player they have been courting to play at their best. Like Hawthorn, Geelong, Sydney etc do all the time.

Richmond are exactly like Carlton when they were middle road. Learnt to walk but couldn't figure out how to run.

Richmond will take a kid with 12 who will take a few seasons to get going if they make it at. The won't progress from previous seasons. Hardwick will get sacked through lack of progression and there will be a spill that may make them but will more likely break them. Believe me, seen it all before.

Richmond don't operate like the successful sides do. This is a straightforward example, had this been one of those sides this trade would have been done last week, I'm positive of it.

Tigers are a good side but they need ready to go quality to be serious contenders, they aren't going to get it with later picks or by going to the draft. They aren't going to make top 4 and win finals the way they are. They need more top end quality and they don't know how to get it. Will likely be rebuilding in 3 years time.

He's contracted, if you want him pay for him, you can't steal him, or he plays for us.
Nice essay dude.....

Yarran for 2 second rounders is a bit much. But we got him. Fair enough!(certainly no big fish). We kept our pick 12.+++
We lost no players. +++
Carlton Lost Yarran, Bell, Henderson, Menzel.
Carlton recruited reserves players so the players don't look like they are going backwards under their development program!(another Spoon).
Tanking at the draft table trying to get a priority pick this time next year! Take note AFL.

LOL Richmond fans acting like they ripped off Carlton.. This time last week you were all saying he isn't worth a first round pick he was worth 31.. Carlton got what they wanted (a first round pick) they waited it out to see if they could get more, but were always satisfied with pick 19

Love it, all week Carlton supporters are crying that Richmond said they'd get a first round pick and 19 didn't count, so they wanted Richmond's only first rounder, pick 12. Now that the trade's done Carlton supporters are crowing that they got what they wanted. Freaking hilarious.

Change of club will do him good, should be a better player at Richmond. However, a change of club won't make him grow a brain or heart.
Thanks for your 'bravery' coming in to tell us.

i sincerely hope to see yazz get his mojo back, because when hes on fire it is something special to watch...he holds some genuine x-factor qualities.
kinda weird cos i didnt want him to go but when the trade was announced i felt nothing. More relief than anything..
the richmond gloating is somewhat out of whack.
carrying on like theyve won the biggest coup of them all is beyond me... havent won anything! its a trade for farks sake... who knows what we pluck with #19...could go on to be captain/coach! I wish... ;)
