Traded Chris Yarran [to Richmond for Pick 19]

His name pops up a lot because he is a well rated player that was dropped for a finals game. So there is speculation about whether or not he is happy. That is pretty much it.

But when you consider that he is only a second year player that is practically guaranteed a starting spot in a team trying to push for a grand final next year, and has a huge tattoo of a tiger on his chest, I think the speculation is unwarranted.
So your speculating. You don't actually know. A guess basically.
Its just that you seemed to know that Richmond won't trade him and that he will sign soon. I was hoping you would have something a bit more concrete.

I never claimed to know anything, someone asked where the Lennon speculation was coming from and I just gave what my take on it was.

Your club would not just give up an essentially free draft pick, that is ridiculous

It paints a picture, you want to walk out of a contract you can spend the year unemployed as a result.

Would the tigers still be keen to pick up a player who hasn't played competitive football for 12 months? Clubs need to stop giving in to the whims of contracted players.

our first is for a treloar/bennell/redden/not yarran trade.
Hence why we are not giving you our first rounder, it really is just time to accept a deal is likely already done and he is off to richmond

And there we have it, that's where we get stuck.

He's not coming for 12, he's not coming for 35. Brisbane need 2nd rounders for academy prospects and Bell before Astbury even gets a mention. So you'll need to find another way to get us a top 20 pick.

But if he is not going to play for you guys next year, and we're not going to offer more, what happens? I'll tell you, Yarran gets traded to richmond for 35

might give you our 2nd round pick and then do a pick upgrade of our 3rd round pick with another club and give you both for yarran guess we will see, but the fact is there is a 99% chance he is off to richmond

110%, why trade him for nothing when you can send a message to contracted players that walking out means you will miss a year of football and in turn lower your future contract worth when you do return.
Because then you get nothing for him anyway also you cant delist a player at the start of the year you know

we offer lennon 500k a year over 4 years and a forced trade happens, bulldogs set a precedent last year when GWS wasn't offering what they wanted.

There are plenty of clubs ahead of you who would offer a 2nd rounder of better value, and don't be surprised if WCE offer us the Selwood compo or their first rounder. Even North could have a crack and we'll upgrade some picks for them.

We won't be screwed for an in demand contracted player commanding over 400k. Silly.

So your going to go ahead and offer a kid 500k a year during a rebuild? thank good you don't manage the list would be even worse then it is right now, and you are not getting any players like treloar if your going go and offer big contract to other clubs kids

You don't understand much to do with the salary cap do you? You do realise the bottom sides still have to spend 95% of it right? We just lost Judd, Henderson and Yarran are going and players like Warnock coming down off 400k salaries, to suggest we have anything short of a cool 1.5mil+ floating around to spend on something would be naive.

In the situation where we lose Yarran, poaching a young kid from the opposition saves us from being rorted on the trade table and costs us nothing long term. Treloar on the other hand costs big draft picks, it makes no sense to trade them away to get him even if we do have the cap space to outbid collingwood.

Sorry fella. I asked another Tigers man (calcium man) a question because he seemed so certain on a couple of things. Didn't look closely enough at who responded.
Sorry mate, you Tigers supporters all look the same.

If you have the money go bigger save your money for top 5 draft picks from other clubs in the future
