You would be mad to think Carlton need Petracca more than Harry. Let him go find another home, Harry is going nowherePetracca's score output (goals + assists) is on par with McKays (goals + assists). Or in other words, they both contribute the same result on the scoreboard.
Key Forwards are overrated IMO. There is a reason Norm Smiths are generally won by line breaking goal kicking mids (including Trac, and Dusty x 3, Judd etc) and not by KPF's.

Have a look over the list and see what most of them have in common.

I can’t think about Viney without thinking about Sydney StackJust proves he is overrated
He is no Viney
Petracca is a top 5 player in the comp, whereas Wright is an average at best inconsistent key forward, who has been struggling for much of this year.Petracca to Essendon and Peter Wright to Demons makes a lot of sense for both teams. Say Wright, 8 F2 for Petracca 45 & 51.
Both are terrible kicks
Pre-injury Petracca yes, but it's too great of a risk to take on post-injury Petracca, especially for McKay. Actually, Dusty is the perfect example. He didn't come back the same after his kidney injury in 2021 that led to his decline and subsequent retirement. Barely played in 2022, had a couple of good games in 2023, barely played in 2024 then retired. Petracca's injuries are much worse than Dusty. We're also yet to know the full extent of his mental trauma. His injuries are likened to that sustained in a car accident.Errrm... Petracca?
With Dusty gone, surely Petracca is currently at least in the conversation for the most damaging HF/Mid in the game?
A club that takes on Petracca will be getting a psychologically broken and banged up player whose primary interest is "Brand Petracca"
3rd rounder should do it ... Dees get copious cap space ... win-win
The perfect learning space for any budding psychologistsThis is going to be a fun 2 months to Trade week isnt it?

Yep what's McKay do to help curnow? Plenty and he's a great kick down the line get out trouble option. You trade McKay, you only have curnow fwd of centre that will worry teamsPetracca's score output (goals + assists) is on par with McKays (goals + assists). They add in mcraeWith their first likely 20+ (after academy etc) this year it would take more than that.
That said, Bont and Trac playing in the same side is ****ing scary to think about.
McKay is a bit of a victim of people recalling some of the misses he had last year when he had his rough patches, but his kicking for goal this year has been very good (and miles ahead of Curnow, who people just don't scrutinize as heavily). This is a bit lazy. Harry is a fantastic kick, had a terrible case of the yips last year, but has rebounded strongly this season.
I reckon once he starts showing up to the club with his personal lawyer, and workplace safety complaints start appearing in the FWC, Trac might just find the Dees are amenable to his request after all.If he's really committed to it, there is a clear path for Petracca to get out of Melbourne.
The fact that it was Collingwood players who had to tell him to stop playing is very damning.
With his injury you can diagnose it just by listening to him breath, don't even need a stethoscope. They should have used one anyway and other assessments but they didn't give a shit about him, they just wanted to give a Panadol and send him back out.
This isn't exclusive to Melbourne, I've seen plenty of incidents throughout the year where players should stop playing but get sent out. Need an unlimited bench to fix it.
Or an employee who got a lacerated spleen at work and got sent back to work instead of the hospital. Not sure Christian is coming out of this all that well.
From afar, he looks somewhat petulant and me focussed
It's Chris Judd again. Surrounded by teammates in trouble, wheels falling off, senses an opportunity. Not sure Christian is coming out of this all that well.
