Major Backstage Details On The Christian-WWE Situation
Story posted by Tim Brown on October 31, 2005

-- PWInsider.com reports that Christian has been miserable in WWE for quite a while, and it only got worse when he was moved to the SmackDown roster.

His quitting is not a work or storyline, however knowing WWE’s recent booking style, it could be turned into a storyline later on. As previously noted, he did not sign the new contract that WWE offered him. Christian felt that WWE should have offered him more money for what he’s been putting up with, and has told friends he will give WWE a chance write him out of storylines.

Christian has also told friends that he had a big run and saved his money, and is in a position where he can afford to quit the company. It’s somewhat like the what happened with Chris Jericho, who has almost completely separated himself from pro wrestling.

Something interesting to note is that Christian lives in Florida, which is where TNA tapes all their shows and runs their PPVs. This would allow for a situation similar to Scott Hall or Kevin Nash’s, where he can take the quick drive up to Orlando once or twice a week to wrestle, then go back home to be with his family.

:If they can oust Jarrett, the main event slot would be his for the taking :)
Rumour is Jarret may be moving to WWE anyway.

I am shocked to hear this news as well. See what happens when you dont maximise a performer. Now the other side of the coin could be a dummy spit '' give me the title or I walk'' kind of thing. Oh well another one bites the dust

Wrestlers will have to be carefull with their contracts and should not let WWE own the rights to their ring name/character. If someone like Christian didn't make as much money or foolishly squandered it and would want to work in another wrestling company they may need that character/name to be succesful.

I do watch the wrestling when i'm home on a saturday, but what's this with Jericho. I knew he was in a "I quit" match with Cena, but I just assumed that it was part of the storyline. Why did he leave?

Isn't he touring with his band Fozzy? I remember about a year ago reading on some website that he said 'He would leave the WWE in a couple of years'. I guess he decided to leave earlier. I mean, who would blame him. He puts up with so much crap and should have been Heavyweight champ ages ago.

 WWE is getting worse and worse.

My 2 faves are gone.....Jericho and Christian, I'm so glad I stopped watching at the start of 2005.

Well then i hope that Benoit isn't one of your favourites then, as it is rumoured that he'll be the next one leaving as soon as his contract is up. Which is apparently within the next few weeks, due to what the WWE are offering him moneywise.
First the dudley boyz, then Captain Charisma now possibly Chris Benoit leaving due to the wwe not offering them enough $$.
The upside of this is, if Benoit does leave & he goes to TNA we might get to see AJ Styles vs Benoit. :thumbsu:

I'd rather see Bryan Danielson v Chris Benoit...that would be a better match.

Christian would be champ by now if he stayed on Raw for crying out loud. Whose damn idea was it to move him to SmackDown anyway?

Benoit, batista, Christian, Ortons were all sent to SD in the hope of better ratings. The only big loss for SD was Angle.

Christain is a great wrestler and the whole Captain Charisma gimmick was fun.

Its a shame he has quit.

He should of been given a greater push.

Why can't idiots like Booker T or Orlando Jordan quit?
