Every other mid has been traded for draft picks, you don't trade good players unless they want out.

Those clubs werent bordering on the 8 looking the missing pieces for a flag tilt. Losing a core of their playing list would make them go hard for players that they feel would be necessary for success.

That isnt a speculative draft pick that comes good in 3-4 years. Thats a player they can use right now.

This all quite irrelevant given that none of it is even close to happening, but... tell me, what picks would Carlton be trading for Oliver? Pick 7 will get used in the Saad trade, whether it's split, downgraded or given straight up. Using 27 is a pipe dream; especially given it's Dodoro you're dealing with. Your first rounder next year will likely be something in the 8-12 range... So how do you get the two good firsts to give Melbourne for Oliver? Would you take pick 16 this year, or whatever is left over from the Saad split-of-pick-7, and 8-12 next year for Patrick Cripps?

Don't be silly, Oliver is maybe a 10% chance anyway but for interest sakes.

Give you 7 + Future 1st + Future 3rd for your Future 2nd + Oliver.

We can then trade either your or our future 2nd for a pick in this years 2nd round and give that + 27 + 45 to the dogs for pick 13 for Saad (Would be like +400 points for JUH).

Either that or we split 7 + 27 for 11 + 16 and Offer 11 + future 1st for Oliver and 16 for Saad.

Probably a number of other ways to do this I haven't thought of but those would get the ball rolling maybe Melbourne want something else like one of our early draft kids (Dow, SPS, LOB, Philp, Stocker) You would think there would be a way to make it happen.

You said mids get traded for draft picks. I explained to you why they dont want draft picks.
No I said you don't trade good players unless they asked to be traded and stated we could use draft picks as all other clubs before us have done as an example of why we didn't need to trade players. You didn't see Sydney handing over their best players last year just because Dodo wanted them now did you?

This is borderline moronic, attracting quality players to join your club does not mean you need to give up one of your own quality players or else why bother trading in the player in the first place you gain nothing.
It’s not moronic. Melbourne aren’t going to trade Oliver who is contracted for draft picks. If Carlton want Oliver this year they are going to have to trade what Melbourne want. If Carlton don’t want to trade players that Melbourne want then Carlton won’t be getting Oliver. Simple

Do a Daniher see if I care, if he requests a trade this year and it isn't done fine, if he requests again next year his value is massively lowered.

Pretty much. Oliver would have to get caught with a dead hooker in the boot of his car before Melbourne dont dictate terms. Probably two actually.

Or he could sign like Papley

Papley was contracted for 4 years last year, did he extend that?

In any case I'm not hung up on Oliver, take any quality mid that wants to come. Oliver just happens to be the one who is mentioned the most atm, maybe that will change now that port are out and looking at bringing in crouch.

Again, 11 and 8-12 next year is laughable, and as for one your "early draft kids (Dow, SPS, LOB, Philp, Stocker)", we wouldn't even want ALL of them.

How would his value be massively lowered? This is where you're really starting starting to struggle. Melbourne's bargaining position might be slightly weakened, but his value massively lowered, just no.

Oliver is only being mentioned by Carlton fans with this pie in the sky delusion of a midfield that includes both Oliver and Cripps.

He might of been.

Regardless Melbourne are better off keeping Oliver and convincing him to stay than getting just picks in return for him.

Daniher was a pre-agent and clearly wanted out.

Oliver will be an every day out of contract at the end of 2021 and there’s nothing credible that suggests he wants out.

One is chalk, the other cheese, doesn’t matter which is which, the point is the situations are nothing like each other.

Strong rumours going around that Goodwin and Preuss keep eating his lunch, has sought assurances from Carlton that they will provide him a private lockable fridge.

2 first round picks, potentially both in the top 10, and a young kid is hardly laughable. Oliver is not Judd.

I don’t think you’d accept but it’s really not far off if he wants out. Not sure he does though.

Of course you wouldn't, shoulda known I wouldn't get a reasoned response.

Pick 7 + 8-12 is more then reasonable, no one gets traded for more then that not even Judd. In any case it almost certainly wont happen so untwist your knickers and stop carrying on like a child.

Oliver is only being mentioned because he has supposable met with the club last weekend, Wines is far more likely to actually happen though with port looking at crouch their midfield will be the same and they will be up whatever draft picks they get.

Pick 7 and Harry McKay and I’ll drive Clarry directly to Ikon Park.
