When Geelong gift players these vacant oceanfront homes or farms how does the player know where the drums of cash are buried?
That's the tricky part, you can't just hand him a map, you can't go through any official channels. We used to code articles written in the Geelong advertiser which, when decoded gave latitude and longitude. Lately it's been the number of times Donald Trump uses code words in a speech (huge cats fan, thinks they're really really great)

Footy players aren't rocket scientists though so after 6 months or so you'd have to have a mate of a mate just go knock on the door and tell him

Because the more people perpetuate falsehoods the more it spreads around and changes the narrative, especially around specific clubs. People think because of it that Geelong are being unfairly favoured and Gold Coast were screwed...that in itself is the issue. Cats put in the work and Gold Coast's poor cap management dug their own hole that they had to then try and dig their way out of. Gold Coast had to agree to the trade, so no it is not Geelong's responsibility to police how Gold Coast manage their club...

Views exactly like the above influences how casual footy fans feel about situations.
Can't count how many times i've seen people whinge about it as if its like some kind of GOTCHA moment that Geelong is being unfairly favoured.

Like Covid Conspiracy idiots, if you ignore it, it allows them to keep pushing a narrative that isn't truthful.
I will continue to fact checking people on their bullshit...
If it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, it’s a duck.

Care to explain? Were Gold Coast held hostage during these events?
GC are fine, it’s Geelong who are the duck. Every player going there takes a pay cut, ends up with a farm & magically coming good. What a coincidence that the AFL has lost the will to prosecute anything anymore for fear of damaging the brand.

Chicken passes out at a nightclub during the season. All good, he can play next week. Nothing to see hear, no please explain Geelong.

1. Having a payment structure in place means guys don’t go too overboard and demand the World, this has been in place since the days of Bartel, Ablett Jr, Long, Stevie J etc. It means we miss out on a lot of Free Agents as guys know if they want to maximise contract dollars they are better off going elsewhere. Jacob Hopper as a recent example was one foot in the door at the Cats until Richmond came over the top and blew Cats offer out of the water. I’m sure there’s a list of players we got beaten out for. It’s no different to any other team losing out on FA sweepstakes. You win some and you lose some.

2. Name the players with a farm? There’s about 3 guys total lol…it’s a meme at this point because you guys blow up every time a footy player wants to play for a successful, winning organisation. Just think of how ludicrous it sounds. The AFL scrutinise every sponsorship and deal done from the top down. Now you are telling me they overlook it for one team? Come on bud….thats cooker level conspiracy theories.

3. If they “magically” come good is it because they are coming to an amazing developmental system that prides itself on getting the most out of players?
By far have had the least amount of 1st round draft picks and yet….manage to turn outside first rounders, rookie draft and basically guys like two sport athletes into All Australians and Rising Stars. That’s not “luck”, that’s what good organisations do with recruiting and development.

Lay off the crack pipe brother. You’re melting.
