now that the Dogs are laughably demanding a top 10 pick from Geelong for B. Smith I would prefer if we turned our attention and offers towards Melbourne for Oliver
They can demand whatever they want, they won't send him to the draft one taking a late first and a second.

The Oliver one is a bit different in that we can't actually do any chasing. The whole thing is up to Melbourne. They have to initiate it if they want him gone. We can't actually do anything.

Because Geelong does not posses a top 10 pick, nor do they posses the currency to obtain one
Then trade for one and give it to them for Smith.

Just like the Pies and Carlton have been having to try and do for Houston.

Geelong fans forever living in the fantasy that every player will cost a pack of Twisties when they nominate Geelong, but any player trying to leave is worth prime Judd levels of compensation.

The Houston situation is the outlier here not the Smith one. The trade negotiation for Smith isn't going to be done until the deadline anyway, why bother doing anything until then?

Have a cry about it mate, you talk absoloute nonsense about Geelong without having the slightest clue.

Tim Kelly traded out for a couple of late firsts, Jordan Clark traded out for a second rounder. Had to give up a 2nd and our first rounder pick in Cooper Stephens to get Ollie Henry.

Only club to trade for free agents (twice)

Ooohh but we got a 5th round pick thrown in for Sav!! So hard to deal with!!

Correct Smith will be at Geelong either on Wednesday night or via the draft.
I think with Melbourne it's more about whether Oliver is willing to take a massive paycut but I don't think it gets done.

How is it laughable to be asking for a top 10 pick for one of their best players?
Well I’m not sure how you could even make the claim he is one of their best players.

He finished outside the top 10 at the Dogs Best and Fairest in both 2022 and 2023 and didn’t play at all in 2024 due to a potential career altering injury.

He comes with both great potential but I would argue even greater risk for Geelong. With that being the case we simply will not over pay on him.

Well yes you can. You send Melbourne an offer that’s makes them want to trade Oliver.

who pissed in your cornflakes this week Walshy. Must have been Mackie lol.
So bitter this week.

Walshy specifically trawling multiple threads involving Geelong and liking any comment that goes against Cats fans and injecting his two cents is hilarious, doesn’t even involve his club and yet he knows what’s best for team’s involved? The tall poppy syndrome is bubbling away inside…

Geelong must have done something to him that has deeply ingrained a weird obsessive hate 😂
Should be thanking Geelong as the Catters gifted them Brian Cook to turn their rabble of a club from a doormat to semi relevant!

Tell me 1 other player that left Geelong excluding Tim Kelly we asked for overs when they wanted out?

You are more worried what Geelong is doing than your own club, you are having a great big melt and it's great for a laugh.

We don't have the resources to put on the table to make an external push on them. The mechanics have to be internal
If Melbourne want him gone they’d be wanting to get resources back, wouldn’t think Melbourne would trade him to Geelong, more likely another club.

You're smoking crack if you think 17 other clubs won't just pick him to prevent that.
Do you think 17 other clubs are going to use their early picks on him? I think there is a decent chance we'll still get him at 38. If not then oh well, Oliver is a better player anyway and would really fix our midfield if he can get near his best again
