Caro's article, and Rohan Connolly's, were far better than Mike Sheahan's. I wondered if they had got on.

Agree about Mike Sheahan but I think Rohan Connolly;s article was just as poor. It seemed to be more about him than Clinton. I really couldn't see why the age even bothered to print it.

Caro's article was really worth reading. She wasn't pretending that they were good mates or that she was anything significant in his professional life, but it gave a real insight in to the type of man Clinton was and it was well written too. Connolly and Sheanan's articles were poorly written, probably because they didn't have much time.

Whoever has covered the story for the herald sun and has talked to Clinton's partner has done an excellent job. After reading that today I feel like I knew the man myself.

John Casey will probably be replaced as the main man at Foxtel. Perhaps Jason Bennett (decent commentator fromFox Footy days for those who don't know him)may be sounded out.

One of the best commentators in the country he was, thats no overstatement. We've seen Foreman go in 2006, we've seen Matt Price pass away in December, it is happening to all of the best journos and commentators, it's becomming a disease. :(

You could add Mainwaring and Griljusich to the list.

I am in China atm so I didn't hear about it right away, shocking end to the middle of a great career from a superb commentator. The sort of commentator this country has been screaming out for for years.
 
Don't know about the 3AW job but I think Mike MacLean from MMM maybe the best choice to replace Clinton at Fox. I like his calling style and he is a far better caller than Jason Bennett or that Casey dud

For those who haven't seen it yet, a Facebook group was created called "R.I.P. Clinton Grybas" that people have joined as a tribute, left some great messages and posted links to newspaper articles and audio and video clips.

Hmmm.

I can't see Tony Leonard, Dwayne Russell or Craig Hutchison being able to do it. They could take it turns between the 3 of them effectively enough. But, 3aw tonight did have Eddie McGuire on..could it be Eddie and Rex?
 
John Casey is a good caller. A few of you are being a little harsh on him.

Nonetheless, such discussion is irrelevant.

No need to knock others in here. Just pay respects to how good Clinton was and as we've heard from so many, what a genuinely good human being he was. Which isn't easy. And the more successful you get the harder such behaviour is to maintain.
Great bloke. Brilliant at his craft, if not the best.

Real sad. Life sucks sometimes but that's the way things are. I or you could be next.
Enjoy it while you're on here folks. Don't waste your time. Clinton certainly didn't.
He may have had alot more left to achieve but looking at what he did achieve, it's more than enough to last us normal folks 3 and a half lifetimes.

RIP Clinton.
 
I was shocked to hear about the passing of Clinton, I never heard much of him call I have heard a bit and liked what I heard. It's sad to lose someone so young, especially someone as talented as he was.

CG was articulate, reasoned, personable (this trait is why so many are so effected by his death), knowledgable and above all...fair in his assessments of both the listener and the player.

What worries me is that we've heard nothing as to the cause -except some "far fetched" conjecture.

I sincerely hope these "smoke screens" are not being put up by his "associates" at 3AW to disguise a sadder or more depressing reason.

I have no evidence to say one way or the other....but my "radar" is screaming.:confused:
 
Out of respect I won't be speculating on the cause of death, rather just wait for confirmation of what happened.

I AM concerned about why it hasnt been announced..:(

..(I didnt think the difference between these two points of conjecture was a difficult thing to understand:confused:, even for an 8 year old with "special school" remedial english requirements.)

Fine, even if you're not speculating, why the need to bring it up? Especially with the word you've bolded.

Its called freedom of speech....

Just as it means we can all have opinions, address sensitive issues and bring other peoples behaviour under question.

(Without taking to the streets and burning effagies or playing the "race card". )

I'm suprised fox sports havent done a tribute to him yet? Showing some of his finest work on AFL teams and all the other stuff he did.

Or have they?
