A number of posters suggested that we needed to mortgage our future by playing partially fit players to excercise the demons had we actually beaten the Swans. Talk about simpletons. Anyway, there's simply no doubt that a group of people that roll out to play a dead rubber against an opponent that are playing for their life will struggle to keep up.

Pure talent allowed us to keep up. We will iimprove again significantly when we've got something to play for. Our effort tonight was amazing, considering that we had nothing to play for.

Talia, Tex and Sloane should have sat out. Luckily they seem to of got through.

Perfect result really plenty of positives but a loss to learn from and burn within.

Huge chance at a flag coming up!

Losing to a team that has had the wood on you for a decade, at home with a full strength list is far from perfect.

I'm only concerned about our ability to miss between 5 and 10 incredibly easy set shot goals per game.

We've consistently done it for the last 8 games.

Can't have that shit going on in finals.

Misses happen due to human error. This will never change. Adelaide are the 3rd most accurate team this season...

Fact is that Sydney didnt outplay Adelaide. Sydney rather kicked their most accurate game of football in close to 25 matches while Adelaide had their 3rd most inaccurate game in the same period of time. Poor kicking is poor football by the losing side. I dont think Sydney will pull much confidence or Adelaide lose much confidence knowing that to beat Adelaide in Adelaide they had to rely on themselves kicking well above AFL average for goal while Adelaide kicking well below AFL average for goal.

Talia looked like a crippled old man at the ground

Remember when he pinged his hamstring against Gold Coast? Played the next week. Tonight he was carried from the ground, everyone thought that's it, season over, only to have him come back out and play on. He might just have a penchant for exaggerating things.

Talk about histrionics, from the usual suspects...

There's one reason why we lost tonight, and one reason only. Our failure to convert easy set shots on goal. It was horrible. I don't mind Riley Knight missing from where the 50m arc meets the boundary line, but when JJ, McGovern & Cameron are missing from 30m out, dead in front, we have a serious problem.

Make no bones about it - Adelaide were the better team on the night, and lost only due to repeated failure in front of goal. The number of scoring shots isn't always an accurate guide to how a game was played, but tonight it was. Adelaide had 25 scoring shots to 18, and still managed to lose. Sydney didn't win tonight - Adelaide beat themselves.

The final result had nothing whatsoever to do with players (maybe) carrying injuries into the game. It all came down to a failure to convert simple set shots on goal.

You guys are a lock for top two. Geelong v GWS (assuming both win this week) will decide the other spot next week. 1 or 2 doesn't matter, especially if you lose a gun in the process. No one wants to play Sydney in finals, an unknown quantity to an extent, but today showed how they can be beaten. Stay with them in the 1st and you're 1/2 way home (We couldn't do it in the Prelim, you guys were very close tonight, but even you needed a strong 2nd to get back into the game). Rest em up, 3 weeks til the biggest same so far this year.

We were the better team and the result means nothing. The swans also know we are a better team after tonight. Our only real thteat is GWS. Crows v GWS grand final coming up.

Too fast for Talia and too strong for Keath. That's why he's... Buddy.

Keath is probably the better match up but Buddy was getting silver service in the 1st quarter.

Agreed on the Talia one, hence why Lever should be the human sacrifice every time the ball is coming in buddy's direction.

Very difficult to execute when he's getting the footy lace out.
