We are definitely leading the comp for being polar opposites in form from one quarter to the next.

And it happens on a regular basis. Dew just doesn’t seem to be able to fix it.
You’d think after 6 years you’d rip the Band-Aid off.

Surely there’s ppl high up in the qld football community or even sponsers who are over Stewie Dew and the Suns being mediocre

Teams must love prepping for us. You know you are going to get the Witts/Swallow/Rowell/Anderson/Miller midfield combo all game launching it to 30m out where Casboult and King are both standing.

We aren’t going to blast through teams on the transition, because we don’t have any wingers up the field working down and back providing a link up from the backline, so Weller is just going to go long and to a contest unless one of our mids are standing free in the middle. We can’t really run it out either because Weller and Powell are the only ones who seem to be able to make a good decision and execute.

And because our middle section just doesn’t seem to be working hard enough defensively to start the year, (or aren’t running to the right areas at all) an intercept mark in our forward line is often leading to a scoring shot down the other end due to the overlap teams are creating so often.

Teams know if they can just put a bit of pressure on in the middle, it will be hard for them to be out of the game against us the way we are currently playing.

The worrying aspect for me is the gap between our best footy and our worst footy isn’t closing.

If anything, it's widened this season so far.

It’s bewildering. And the club doesn’t seem to know how to fix it.

Or care?

Obviously starts towards the top of the tree.

Offering someone a extension 2 games into a season after 5 average years before hand.

Media like… most under pressure coach. Dew

Suns like… hold my beer.. dew have a contract.

Surely we can afford to pay him out, must be one of the cheapest contracts going around

Yet id say over 50% of people are saying we are in the wrong Iva for wanting the Suns to succeed sooner rather then later 🤷🏽‍♂️
Each to their own, in the end we all want success for the club. Some vent ( guilty) some deny, some attack but in the end we have more in common than differences, we would all hug and jump for joy if the Suns won on that one day in September

After doing this last year when Essendon was looking for an experienced coach (once clarko and the likes pulled out), my list of preferences was something like this.

1. Buckley
2. Hinkley
3. Pyke
4. Simpson
5. Leppitsch

Inexperienced options
J. Carr, Yze, Giansiracusa etc

All AFL funded clubs now have a standard 6 month pay out clause for senior coaches.

So if a change is made at the bye, or at the end of the year, the same payout applies.

And if the on-field does not improve, there will be change.

So the [unchecked gutting] for 6 years without lube wasn’t enough.
Need to cop it for a further 6months. Nasty

As a foundation member and one lurking on the board I am about to put what I consider are facts.
There is nothing much wrong with the list and depth of talent. Probably more top picks than any other club.
Never in the history of AFL/VFL has a coach without the success of Dew over a long period been retained and equally bizarre given an extended contract.
Dew is unable to make changes during a game to stem the onslaught by the opposition. Conversely note how the Lions in a past game against the Suns reversed a losing score within a very short time.
The career of Suns players are being sacrificed through his coaching. A typical example is Rankine who apart from a few games never really shone is now ranked highly in the comp. Conversely Matt Rowell is really not given an opportunity to show his true ability and takes a battering every week.
Team selections are at times bizarre. Ben King was thrown in without any match time. His confidence is shattered. Mac Andrews selection is not worthy of comment. Players are dropped for seemily no valid reason.
The on-field kicking is pathetic at times. The ball is floated to our player which gives the opposition time to cut off the pass and open up a scoring opportunity.
Cannot understand why a player taking a shot from say twenty metres goes back thirty metres to start the run-up. Are the players instructed to go back a long way? There is a simple technique to kick goals. Walk in straight, have the non-kicking leg bent and drop the ball not from a great height onto the boot, follow through straight and voila a goal almost every time. Many players move to the right and end up hooking the ball to the left. Note when they kick around corners the leg is grounded.
The VFL Suns are playing great football and are a pleasure to watch. Extremely well coached and players are excelling. This leads me on to my suggestion what should happen.
Immediately sack Dew and appoint Josh Drummond as interim coach for the rest of the season. Lets look at his ability to coach at a top level and then assess the situation. Maybe we have another Craig McRae in our midst.

You sound very similar to someone else around here…
What’s with another fake account? 🤣

Who cares what his user name is.
He's pretty much spot on.
It's staggering Dew still has a job as a Senior Coach
This is true.
But Evan’s needs a puppet.

Or he’d already be gone.
Just look at the numbers.

Must be a reason he is still there.
The AFL doesn’t want GC GWS Sydney and the other interstate teams all playing finals football.

Will bring down crowd numbers and tv viewers
Aka commercial tv rights will plummet
