Probably needed to front load some $ into this years soft cap (AFL approved since we never fully spend it) and add a 6th year with a decent (AFL approved) payout to get him over the line and also leave some $ in the annual soft cap to get some extra help.

So some AFL assistance with the contract without it being direct assistance (that is, they can say with a straight face that they did not help with $ 'cause the optics are everything).

For sure we try to take the game on more but Steven King made some poor decisions on game day. His explanation why he moved Miller off Gulden topped it off.

I would also say that our midfield despite being still inexperienced and young, I expected more from them and be more proactive especially when under pump. Often just waiting for what the opposition does. Steven King has a lot to answer for midfield as he coaches them.

And as under Dew, we produce a terrible quarter every second game.

But at least with Dimma, he got ahead by backing his assistants to bring their strengths to the table, allowing him to focus on his own strengths. Basically the opposite of Dew.

For the most part we have most of the assistants in place to put a solid gameplan together, and Dimma can work on getting the best out of each player individually.

I know it’s easy to be seduced by the words but watching the press conference you can tell the difference in bringing in someone proven and is very confident in themselves and what they want and can bring than someone fresh and unproven who has to build confidence
