Lol, I'm no traitor:D, every year me and my best mate take it in turns to buy memberships for the others team. This year was Collingwood. I still go to alot of Essendon games probably about 10 this year so far including going over to subi. Its actually good fun, I coped alot of shit Anzac day but got it back the 2nd time we played, "Why are you leaving early, the games not over yet" got a few nasty looks but all in good fun.

Fair enough.

Broken it down to the top 6 of the 21 and under bracket... then rated them as unbiased as i possibly could at their current state....

Carlton

Kreuzer 6/10
Gibbs 7/10
Murphy 7/10
Grigg 5/10
Jamison 7/10
Bower 6/10

Total - 38

Collingwood

Cloke 8/10
Thomas 6/10
Pendlebury 7/10
Clarke 5/10
Anthony 5/10
Brown 6/10

Total - 37

Essendon

Ryder 8/10
Neagle 6/10
Gumbleton 3/10
Reimers 6/10
Myers 4/10
Jetta 5/10

Total - 32

So Carlton just, ahead of collingwood and well in front of Essendon

My opinion only

wheres harry obrien?? i know he has been beaten by franklin and fevola but everyone does but thats about it, he hasnt been beaten by anyone else and is probably our best defender atm and he should be an 8/10

Carlton >> pies > essendon in a close third

looking through the thread many pies fans are seriously overrating the depth in their youth ranks

These kids are leading us into finals right now and can only get better. Obviously, Burns, O'Bree, Lockyer, Medhurst do most of work in the middle of the ground (Medhust as a forward as well) but the likes of Cloke, Brown, O'Brien, Anthony and recently Dawes, Cook and McCarthy are doing the work forward and back.

All three have top-tier 21 and under talent pools.

I think Collingwood marginally edges out Carlton, with Essendon third (but still a great young list).

I just think the young players all over the ground is what gets us over the line. We have forwards, midfielders and backmen. Our future (and current) spine is under 21 and under: Dawes, Cloke, Pendlebury, O'Brien, Brown.
You could throw in Anthony and Reid at either end too, and Rusling forward. Plus we have the likes of Thomas, Clarke, Wellingham, McCarthy, Goldsack, Dick, Wood.. all over the ground. (Plus many more obviously).

Still, all three are fantastic. I think only Hawthorn would rival them, and maybe WC.

Please please become a carlton recruiting officer. If you think Bower is better than those players. LMFAO!!!

Unbiased..........

as for this thread - Collingwoods have the runs on the board.

With 3 no. 1 picks Carlton have to have some good players.

Essendons are still largely unknown due to injury. The signs are good - but that means jack till they put it together.

Those who think Essendon have no chance though.....I just pray we get a good run with injuries is all I'll say.:thumbsu:

I kinda disagree. I see alot of Collingwood as I'm a member (shhhhhhh;)) I think Pendles will elite, but I think Thomas might always be one of those players who never find consistency but will win 3 games a year off their own boot.

In fairness to Thomas, how many players that start off as HFFs have consistancy in their first few years? Thomas is averaging equal or better stats than the likes of Ablett, Didak, Chapman, Akermanis at the same stage. Just give him time to develop, because he's the sort of player that needs time to find that consistancy.

Varcoe is Good

Selwood is the Next Judd

Gamble Looks Okay

Hawkins is a wait and See

West - Doubt he will make it

Ryder has shown nothing other than his on the way to being Kepler Bradley II.

Collingwood > Carlton > Essendon.

Paddy Ryder V Nathan Brown = no contest, Brown gets Paddy whacked. So that means Brown is well on his way to being the next ?? Ben Reid?? might be difficult for him to get his funky little set shot routine down but hey he can only try.

Nathan Brown is scary good considering this is his debut season. Will be an absolute gun full back. Paddy Ryder is good but over rated by Bomber supporters. I'd prefer Nathan Brown over Ryder. I guess it doesn't matter because we already have him anyway.

Is he overrated by the media as well?

Geez too much bias in here.
