Yeah could've made it clearer. I was saying our upcomers aren't great. Dean is but that's it. McMahon will be gone by the end of 2023.I'm not sure what your point is but if that's our KPD we are rooted
If only I was 5"7. Caleb Daniel who stands at 5"5 and is a pretty good defender. Height is not everything. Daniel v Cox is an interesting match up. On ehas height, the other is a very solid defender who has played forward quite convincingly.Haha. I could only dream..

17 this December Jen or 18 and draft relevantApparantely he is still in year 11..
Is a december baby.
Dekka does like his late baby players lol
Given he is mentioned here for the 2022 draft, this year. So must then 18 late late december, yet still draft relevant.17 this December Jen or 18 and draft relevant
He’s not 18 until the end of December, so he’ll finish year 11 as a 17 year old. Pretty common these days tbh.Confused Jen, year 11 or year 12?
He would be to old I would think to be 18 years end and in year 11
Yeah correct. He’s not 18 until the end of December, so he’ll finish year 11 as a 17 year old. Pretty common these days tbh.
Cheers Jen, I was 16 when completing HS but 17 by years end.Yeah correct.
I didnt turn 18 until the day I graduated HS
Ah, right. That would make sense why you might have been confused.Cheers Jen, I was 16 when completing HS but 17 by years end.
Never had prep in WA so straight to year 1, thus most finished HSC a year earlier than VIC
Jacob Edwards completed Year 12 and AFL. North Melbourne MSD No. 1 pick. Imagine if they had 3 straight number 1 picks.Given he is mentioned here for the 2022 draft, this year. So must then 18 late late december, yet still draft relevant.
Probably the last time someone was in the afl and year 12 at the same time was this kid who blasted the 2020 time trial

Yeah, we wait and see with his school footy and nab league this year.Nicky is in year 11 I believe, same as my son. He'll be young in his draft class.
My son is only turning 17 in October though.
I coached Nicky at Auskick in South Melb several years ago.
Chaz Dean's father Gary was coaching his son to future greatness in a group a couple of years older.
I've seen Nicky training/running recently. He's a good height (I'm a little surprised he is tall as 195cm though) and will fill out as he matures.
The fact that he listed himself at 6"2' when he created his Hudl account in April last year suggests he may not be 195cm currently to me.
I'm not sure he'll make it at AFL level based upon what I have seen/remember, but admittedly I have not been closely following his progress which has been impacted by primarily playing school footy and Covid.
It would be really nice if he did.
Yeah, we wait and see with his school footy and nab league this year.
He is year 11, and a late december baby. So will be young. Did some nice things in this video from last year #21
Is Nicky even draft relevant? This is the first I’ve heard of him.
Knightmare do you have any info?
Haha, someone only linked me to it today.Where was this video when I needed it last year still hard when you don’t know all the numbers though
Yeah, we wait and see with his school footy and nab league this year.

Same for a lot of kids in Victoria. With lack of Footy last 2 years it be hard to know a lot
There's actually a real trend in world sports about this. Kids who are born towards the end of the year have less chance of being drafted than the kids born towards the start. This is because older bodies mature sooner and they absorb most of the coaching, leaving many young kids who would otherwise be selected to miss out. They're actually very useful in football as you get an extra year out of them as their birthdays don't rack up. So they're 29. AFL doesn't see it to my knowledge but in rugby, a lot of guys change their DOB or lie (as no one checks this) so they're younger.

Yeah, certainly helped the SA & WA kids chances of getting drafted in 2021Same for a lot of kids in Victoria.
