Percentage is a far better indicator than W/L. The Pies will drop down a bit this year. Think they'll still make finals but likely 7th or 8th as they should've last year if a couple of results didn't go their way.

Tigers top 4 as their percentage and points for showed. Lock it in.
This is constantly pedalled. Do some homework on how many teams with the best % in the league win the premiership. You’ll be quite shocked. In the last 5 seasons alone, we’ve seen two grand finals competed between the sides with the 4th and 5th highest percentages. Geelong became the first side in 7 years to win the flag with the highest % in the H&A season.

I love the narrative.

First, Collingwood's close wins and low percentage was going to see us fall away at the end of the season and miss the top 4...

Then when that didn't eventuate, it was going to see us get completely outclassed in the finals because we were a long way short of the genuine contenders...

Then when that didn't happen, it's going to cause us to drop down the ladder in 2023, finishing anywhere between 7th and 12th.

Now Collingwood may indeed have a lower finish in 2023 that last year, but it's not because we ended our home and away season in 2022 with 104%...

A little deceiving.

4th or 5th highest percentage is vastly different to the 10th highest.

While the Pies can continue to win 16+ games this year, you would have to improve based on the number of close wins from last year

Essentially, the most important factor is finishing top 3, 1 in over 20 odd past flags has been won from a side finishing lower

Actually, it certainly is a factor
