Did he? Can I see the footage?Given that Shaun Hampson tried to put Dane Swans internals into his throat in the first quarter.

For the record, this is what I said on the Collingwood board and I'm happy to post it here for all to see and take potshots if they like but get one thing clear, I take no joy in Simpson's injury and frankly I'd be shocked if Wellingham or anyone else from Collingwood did. The point I made was about heart and despite the terrible outcome, what he did showed heart. Had Wellingham sat down on the field for 5 minutes beforehand and thought about what might happen I'm fairly confident he would not have done what he did but then consider what would you have posted about his heart and what you would think if he were one of your players. I apologise if anyone thinks my comments amount to taking joy in Simpson's misfortune but that is as far from what I was saying as you can get.Possibly the only highlight for me in the game. Deserves a medal regardless of the outcome. Turning point came way earlier than that, probably around about 7:50pm.
And I'm happy to tell you to **** off.For the record, this is what I said on the Collingwood board and I'm happy to post it here for all to see and take potshots if they like but get one thing clear, I take no joy in Simpson's injury and frankly I'd be shocked if Wellingham or anyone else from Collingwood did. Not sure how to deal with this well thought through and considered response but I will have a go.And I'm happy to tell you to **** off.

But I thought it was only WC fans........ how tunes have changed as the season has progressed.Every team has rubbish fans, that guy looked like an idiot and it's good to see most people hating on him. Just makes it all the more laughable when people try and point out that one group of fans is worse than others.
Yes i completely agree with you. Its shocking. Is there anything lower than cheering when a player gets injured? Given that the injury occurred through a cowardly act certainly it's a disgrace for any supporter to cheer and applaud these actions. Hope Collingwood make an example of this clown that appeared front and centre on TV
Also to the Collingwood poster claiming it was the highlight of the night you've really displayed your lack of football intelligence.

But it didnt seem to faze you when your whole melbourne crowd cheered off didak when he tore his groin.
This is largely bullshit. I was at the ground, and I was initially cheering too. Menzel went out of his way to bump a Hawk player, and from the other end of the ground, it just looked like he'd come off second best, there is no way people knew he was injured - at least not the ones sitting near me - they were just cheering a piece of play where it looked like the Hawk player had come off better in a physical contest initiated by the cats player. Hawk's fans STFU pretty quickly when they realised Menzel wasn't getting up, and had probably injured himself.
It is possible the pies fan was also a) unaware from a distance how cowardly Wellington had been and b) how serious the harm was. Who hasn't cheered a good physical contest? From a distance it is not always easy to differentiate a fair bump from a dog act.
