The woe is me attitude in this thread is so unbecoming. The AFL is addicted to money and no club makes the AFL more money than Collingwood. To suggest the AFL "hate" Collingwood is ludicrous, and however unfortunate the 2025 fixture is for us, complaining about it is ignorant about how the AFL has been helpful to us in other ways - for example, not having played in Geelong since the 1990s, or basically never playing in the smaller markets like Tasmania, Alice Springs, Ballarat, Darwin, Cairns, Canberra, etc.

You can make a fair and reasonable argument that the coverage by significant sections of the media comes from a hatred of Collingwood but to suggest the AFL hates us is pure victim mentality stuff.
Collingwood should play all their games in Darwin, Cairns, Hobart/Launceston, Alice Springs, Canberra and Ballarat!

We travel well so I’ve always thought playing our away games at their teams boutique venues wouldn’t be a bad thing. Play all the interstate teams as away games, there’s 8/11 games. Hawks in Launceston, Roos in Hobart, Dogs in Ballarat or Cats at Kardinia Park. Let them all bleat when they’ve got less cash in their accounts at seasons end because the AFL doesn’t have the gate takings to merit the distributions they’re accustomed to.

We were broke.
Won our second ever wooden spoon.
Then came Ed.
Within a few years we were playing in GF's.
Within his time he built a powerhouse of money, respect and success.
Should have been at least 4 Premierships if not for bad luck and some dodgy goal umpire/field umpire decisions.
I was happy when he went because everyone has an expiry date. But cannot fault the man because he built the 21st century Collingwood that we see today.

Ed made the club sexy again.

At that time, he was exactly what the club needed.

Getting a proven coach Iike MM gave me hope that we could once again rise.

Not sure where to park this, but, ran into Peter McKenna this morning shopping. Shook his hand and wished him a Merry Xmas.

What a champion 🌟
He's a perfect gentleman - I met him once at a high school reunion.
He's a lovely man and one of our best.
