I can't see anything in that question that would require a lawyer.
It is in fact the word going round.
It cannot in fact be confirmed ( to answer the question ).

Is it now illegal to report a rumour even if it is clear from the statement that its a rumour,

If true I'd like to see Milne go crazy sueing BF posters.

That question was as rhetorical as it gets. Innapropriate when we're talking of matters so serious.

Im as passionate as the next guy when it comes to crushing players who HAVE done something like what has been alleged, but to insinuate and state a name after little over 24 hours with no factual evidence what so ever is just not right.

Settle down mate. I've got my 3 year old boy climbing all over me while I'm typing. Sorry about the typo. The facts remain that you don't get the same forensic findings with rape as you do with conSENSUAL intercourse.
you typed it twice - coincidence - nice dictionary lookup!:):)

It was ok for all you pricks to get on Fevs back and drive that bloke into the ground...time to suck it for yourselves ya pack of whineing bitches

he can be traced and info given to legals. in progress

Good work. Im actually embarrassed that you carry our logo, we dont need people like you mate I suggest you start becoming accustomed to the GWS or Gold Coast as your new club.

*Apologies Nathan Q Brown: Quoted you but was aiming it at the Essendon idiot who posted the initial rubbish.

Glad this bluff works for you. lol

You want the right to gloat about a young woman's life possibly being changed forever?

Sorry to spoil your party doofus but this sordid incident will forever taint the collingwood fc and its players ....
See milne/montagna for precedence .... and get ready to suck it up .....

Yeah fair enough if that's what you think - if you look again you'll notice I actually wrote something else rather than changed the speliing because I didn't want to look like a picky idiot. Anyway pick away at spelling if you like and ignore the actual crux of what I wrote. I have enough medical knowledge to know what I'm talking about.

I'm not having a go at the players. I hope it didn't happen because it will ruin the lives of a young woman and 2 young men with a great football career in front of them. And all people in this country are innocent until proven guilty. But to suggest the forensic findings of rape are the same as consensual sex is ridiculous and blatantly untrue.

Why is it wrong to post "the rumour is that it's <player name>"...

But no one gets upset when people post the link to an article which states who the alleged two players are?

They're essentially the same thing.

These people are out there. I know from people at the game on Saturday that sections of the Collingwood crowd had the "Milne is a rapist" chant going.

Yeah I heard it too, but lets get one thing clear, This isnt a Collingwood problem, its a problem with a lot of the culture surrounding Football in general.

Last year I was at the Essendon v Hawthorn game, sitting in the crowd as I normally do (with my young nephew might I add). I am under no illusions that the footy has some feril language (If I didnt think he could handle it, I wouldnt bring him, and I dont stop people using it because "When it rome"), but there is a point where its too much. A fan (who I unfortunately came to realize was an Essendon supporter) jumped up and screamed at Chance Bateman "you blood stained n**ga". Myself, being of dark complexion, was so offended that I actually told him if he didnt leave, id smash his face into the concrete he was standing on.

Albeit, he left when the MCC management saw the issue and thankfully 100% of the people around me supported it. Fact is, this is not the first for behaviour like this at the footy, this happens with ALL clubs supporters (innapropriate behaviour, remarks etc). I think we all pretty much know where the line is, just a few morons who decide they can say and do what they want.

actually he reminded me a bit of Joffa. with the exception that despite several major disappointments and no flags under his belt - Joffa has refrained from crying on national TV after a loss unlike that loser

So Nathan Q have YOU got your lawyers? Havent you heard of depression, suicide and bullying...if you want to take things to a whole new low everyone on this site can do the same to you

I can't imagine how it would be for his 8 year old son and grandparents sitting in the crowd.

This rubbish should not be allowed at the football, any supporters reading this thread that have indulged in this chant, should perhaps reassess their contribution.

Don;t give us the poor Fev dribble.

Disgusting by the Collingwood player has the potential to taint their win, let alone the life of this woman.

If he did, he'd have quite a number of them in his sights, including I would imagine a fair share of Collingwood posters.

you didn't give a shit about the victim then - and you don't now either. Scum bag!

i made that comment if you looked in refrence to this "They cannot insinuate someones guilt in this country without being convicted"

and i was saying it was obviously all right for the media and others to insinuate their guilt with no charges, as they all did it.

and if you looked i already made an apology.

i just had 6 years of built up anger that i have kept in some how through all the stuff 2 players from my team have copped from other teams supporters and when this came out i guess my anger burst out, and as i said i didnt think at the time.

Pointing out another webpage is indicating their opinion/investigative journalism etc. and any legal proceedings are their problem. Expressing the names on here could make it BIG's and the poster's problem depending on how it is written. Leave the potential legal problems to Vexnews as they know half of the political system is looking to crush them and they write things in a way that will look after their own skins. If they stuff up then it is their problem.
