I'm just spitballing . I don't see it as a probable trade, but after what happened with Treloar its tough to rule anything out. I'd guess we try for Ollie and Grundy goes elsewhere.

Treloar, Phillips, Stephenson and Bosenavulagi were traded because we had a bunch of poorly managed back ended contracts coincide with the AFL reducing the salary cap because of covid, and we were going to exceed the cap. And we would have been subject to the penalties for doing that. That isn't what's happening here. We can afford Grundy and he's contracted. He'll only get shipped off for something worthwhile.

Is there any substance behind the parish to Collingwood deal like with mckstay and hill have been well documented. And a lesser extent tom Mitchell and firioni. But where is the news coming from for parish ?

From a post on another site from a guy whose mail is generally pretty good. All he said was "watch this space"

Fiorini and Hill with a strongly built reasonably mobile KPF (Trade, VFL whatever).

If we can get someone to regularly get the ball to ground and take his share of contested marks in the F50 we have the forward line that can make it happen.

If Grundy and or Degoey go they need throw 7 x 1.2M to McKay and offer Carlton 3 firsts.

He's a RFA next year. They'll get 1 first rounder for him and they can't afford to match this deal.
Omfg not only $1.2m but 7 years!!! That would immediately be the biggest albatross contract in AFL history. Awful, awful, awful!

I understand that, but you also have to consider the player whose place he is also taking and whether that is an upgrade or not. Be that Cox, Cameron, or someone else (even Henry).

I’m not sure he is.
I’d say as a forward ruck, he’s a significantly better player than Cox and a much better player than Cameron.

We’ll benefit more than anything with his ability to get involved in chains around the fifty and around the ground, his ball use for a big man is pretty impressive.

I’m not huge on McStay but after seeing how these finals played out there’s a definite roll for him and an upgrade as that 80/20 forward/ruck. Hopefully we can get more production on the scoreboard in our fifty when he’s not the 4th option but only time will tell us that.

No mention of Tom Mitchell, he's a must get to compete again next year.

It’s been quite telling that any “interest” in a trade of Mitchell to Collingwood has been from Mitchell’s side according to journos.

It’s not how these things normally go if they’re to pan out.

McStay/Frampton/Fiorini/Hill all look locked in.

Maybe we are preferring Fiorini or Parish has become available?

If we prefer Fiorini to Mitchell we're making a big mistake. Mitchell should be our biggest priority imo.
