Exactly - I was purely responding to the posters claim Begg was to skinny and twiggy to play Ruck. And your response doesn’t take into account the attributes that make Finlayson an AFL quality ruck/fwd

a feeling?I have a feeling Sydney are going hard for Ash Johnson.
Ash won't be going elsewhere. Sticking with Bobby and his other mates.a feeling?
Same feeling. He's loved and clearly loves being at the Pies who gave him this opportunity.Ash won't be going elsewhere. Sticking with Bobby and his other mates.
A feeling as well.
Straight swap for Amartey you reckonI have a feeling Sydney are going hard for Ash Johnson.
Begg's a very hard no for me. Has only looked like a VFL standard ruck when he's gone up against the worst rucks (like Schache last week), and he simply won't make it as a KPP. Even Tom Downie from Williamstown took him and Steene to town.
Steene will get a new deal and I like his potential, but I wouldn't expect him to be near AFL standard for some time
One more pre season and I expect a better version of AJ next year.Same feeling. He's loved and clearly loves being at the Pies who gave him this opportunity.

If I had to invest in one, I'd pick Riccardi given he's two years younger.

That's true but Riccardi is younger.yet when you compare their respective careers, things aren't so clear cut, especially when you consider Riccardi has longer in an elite system and strong pre-draft engagement in the relevant systems, Johnson walked into Sturt and had a season and a half pre-draft relevant exposure.

If AJ leaves for some reason then I would go for RiccardiThat's true but Riccardi is younger.
I'd have both.Same. Can't believe anyone rejecting Papley or Weightman but are willing to welcome TT.
Same. Mind you I can't see either of them happening, it's just a pipe dream. And besides what we really need is a younger version of Titch and another kpd.I'd have both.
Papley's an annoying prick, a bit like Ginni, but then he'd be our annoying prick.
Weightman has got a name for staging for frees, a bit like Ginni.
In both cases, they have talent, and if they played for Collingwood, they'd be irritating other clubs' supporters.
I'd be happy with that.
That's a cracker Molly, I nearly rolled off my chairHe's had periods in games where I've been the same so can't blame them.
finlayson pinch hits in the ruck. His ruck game doesn't gethim a gameExactly - I was purely responding to the posters claim Begg was to skinny and twiggy to play Ruck.
seriously? Begg's problem is that he has tree trunk legs, and lacks the stamina / athleticism that you need if youre a 197cm ruck / KPP. Agree that KPD is his best bet, but he has a turning circle akin to Billy Morrison, and is quite slow. He has serious endeavor, which has helped players make it in the past, but I think any AFL level KPF or KPB would run him ragged, so he's up against it to make it in the big leaguesSteene, yes. He's a great player and we're starting to see that in the VFL. Hine admitted he would have been ready had we really needed him but they wanted to wait.
Begg, no. Part of his problem is that he's too skinny. He's more of a KPD than a ruck. Modern rucks seem to be units and Begg in comparison is more twiggy and nimble.
We would surely want Logan McDonald with a draft pick used to balance the trade. He's had periods in games where I've been the same so can't blame them.
When's the last time you saw Begg? He's anything but skinny, twiggy or nimble..Steene, yes. He's a great player and we're starting to see that in the VFL. Hine admitted he would have been ready had we really needed him but they wanted to wait.

I agree. I was surprised to see how much bigger Begg was upon returning from pre season..but unfortunately it only seems to have affected his fitness & agility. He always looks puffed out.seriously? me too. I’m not pushing it, but if the club took that path I’d cop it. Ditto Ginnivan.I’m probably in the minority here but I’m not opposed to the buy low sell high approach to Johnson if the interest is there.
I'm sure when Cloke recommended him he was supposed to be an athletic beastseriously?
