Hine was big on him in his draft year iircJay Clark seems to think we should be in the race for him.
Yep, if he is in the frame and entertaining our overtures, we need to be all guns blazing.Ben King is the one to get.
I'm on the view with the way we play. I'm not convinced its a necessity - we are't struggling to score. But either way. its not an option for another 18 months, if he doesn't re-sign by mid 2024Yep, if he is in the frame and entertaining our overtures, we need to be all guns blazing.
The dynasty sides of the past 25 years all had a gun key forward.
He was never ours to begin with. We chose Johnson over him in the MSD and it's hard to argue that this wasn't the right call. How did we let somebody like Ned Moyle go to Gold Coast, might be speaking too soon. But he played very well in the VFL…and given we knew we’d be short a ruck he could have been a great back up.
Now we have nothing!
Agreed we don't need to hamstring our cap again for a player that may not be an absolute necessity.I'm on the view with the way we play. I'm not convinced its a necessity - we are't struggling to score. But either way. its not an option for another 18 months, if he doesn't re-sign by mid 2024
As well as cap, he'd cost a bomb in terms of trade. I think we've got the cattle to be in the running for flags and should be future planning with our trade capital, rather than trying to load up for the short term. If we're looking for improved cattle in the short term, I'd stick exclusively to FA and looking for bargains to fill holes.I'm on the view with the way we play. I thought the Gold Coast picked him beofre our pick - I thought he was gone before we had a chance to get him.He was never ours to begin with. We chose Johnson over him in the MSD and it's hard to argue that this wasn't the right call.
If we had the next pick I'm sure we would have taken him.
Cap is the key - it comes down to how much Moyle will cost cap wise.Uncapped Suns ruckman being chased by “at least six clubs”
“He has a number of clubs pursuing him.”www.sen.com.au
Move to Begg to the backline and leave Steene to develop as a ruckman.
Moyle takes over from Cox next year.

It doesn’t matter how many clubs are chasing him, an uncapped ruckman isn’t going to command a significant portion of the cap.Cap is the key - it comes down to how much Moyle will cost cap wise.
Yep. But as he's not a forward/ruck, he'd need to be viewed ahead of DC as first ruck to be poached by us. I don't think it's likely. It'll be more about opportunity for Moyle than anything $ wise.
I think our last two games show’s us exactly why we need to invest more in the forwardline.
I wouldn’t call that deal massive. We already did, it was a massive 4 year deal called McStay.
I wouldn’t call that deal massive.
I think the figures that have been reported aren’t massive. He’s not a 7 year deal north of a million per year.4 years, he was well paid at Brisbane... you reckon he moved across the country without getting a pay rise?

It's massively overpaying for his output in his career so far.I wouldn’t call that deal massive.
