Mackie struggled to offer us pick 25 for OOC Ollie -- for in contract Holmes, you can bet they'll make it as hard as possible lol If the rumours are true that he wants to leave.
Pick 25 is my final offer!

We desperately need more midfield depth.

Mitchell Pendlebury Sidebottom Adams will continue to fall away next year and could struggle big time.

Lipinksi hasn't come on as hoped.

All our eggs are in the Daicos/De Goey basket, we need more depth.
As this happens our cap will also open up. Our biggest issue is a KPF and KPB. Midfield is the easiest position to fill immediately. Daicos is a generational talent that has fallen in our lap. We will build around the marvel part 3

Mihocek and McStay is enough tall forwards for now, with Cox/Cameron/Johnson the depth.

KPD is okay with Moore Murphy and Frampton the depth.

Midfield is the #1 issue by far imo. Pendles and Mitchell will struggle next year.

Unlikely that Port have the trade and draft capital to make all the proposed moves in off season. Clear need in backine
They will probably trade out someone like Duursma to a club silly enough to pay a price for him

Not sure. Don’t get me wrong. Don’t mind Ryan but he would project as more likely to play the sort of role WHE played against Melbourne

In his draft year he did say he models his game off Sicily. Do we see those kind of traits?

I think we’re splitting hairs - I was surprised seeing 12 on their list who’ll be aged 30 and over next year.

From the game on the weekend Brisbane had 4 players above 30, 1 player who'll turn 30 after the season ends and 3 who turn 30 during next season.

For Collingwood it was 8 players above 30, 1 who'll turn 30 before the season is finished and 1 who turns 30 after the season ends.

We're old though the average age of 28y1m against Melbourne is still 6 months younger than the Geelong Premiership side of 2022.

Agree that that will have a reduced influence. But think they need to b managed and we need to bring Fin Reef and Allan through. Big call on both Mitchell and Pendles. Pendles was huge in last quarter on Thurs night.

Don’t think he is anything like Howe. Similar height but plays nowhere near as tall as Howe.
Some blokes like Howe, Pendlebury and Kouta don’t come around every year.

The defensive mix will be different when Howe and Pendles retire at the end of this year (or next). Ryan, Dean, Frampton and Markov may feature.

Apparently Fly is very happy with F McRae (no relative AFAIK), he said in an interview they meet more often than almost any other player (I'm guessing Moore as captain has the most meetings).

He said they meet pretty much weekly (i think he said they've assured him of his worth the club or words to that effect) so I think Fly has great faith there. I think Fin had 8 tackles in his 2 quarters or so hes played its clear so i think we can see what they're excited about.

Reef and Allan as AFL midfielders is wishful thinking at this stage. Both look a while off.

We’ll have another tilt at the flag with money ball picks then we need to trade/Draft hard we a clean out not far away

Can't afford to have a full rebuild though when we have Nick. Can't waste away what we have with him.

2023
- Moir: draft
2024
- Callaghan (GWS) / Holmes (Cats) - trade
2025
- Cadman / Similar

If you're lucky or push your chips in, the age demo / list profile can change pretty quickly
I suspect in 2024 we'll see Naughton and Clark land, Holmes maybe another to join us.

Callaghan is under contract until 2025. Much better to target him in that year. GWS will sign Cadman sooner. I've met Cadman he's a very relaxed bloke. If you didn't know he was from the country, you'd think he was from a beach side surf town.
