Pretty disappointing that this medical panel for Murphy doesn’t occur until after trade week!

GW seemed very relaxed about it. It’s also worth noting it’s an advisory board so they can’t tell him he’s done. All players are different and whilst he may have had more concussive episodes none that I remember were like the Brayshaw incident or with ongoing issues like them Greenwood, Picken, Adams etc.

He could obviously be one incident away from the serious outcome his family fears, but at this stage I’d say it’s likely he’s out there in Rd 1 2024 barring a training incident.

I’ve never really followed the off season stuff like I have past two years so I’m still learning some stuff.

Can someone please correct me where I’m getting it wrong here.

We delisted 5 players (that’s 5 spots to fill)
We traded two players (that’s 7 spots to fill)
We recruited one player (that’s 6 spots to fill)

Am I missing something? Or do we need to recruit / elevate 6 more players?

We may yet still lose Murphy too

And we have 3 draft picks. One is pick 80.

How are we filling these spots?

7 off , 1 on is correct but don’t count Wilson as Cat B and don’t count Murley as we were +1 with Markov.

So 4 spots. We will only take 2 picks in the draft and elevate 1 or 2 rookies.

If we elevate 2 rookies then we will add a couple in the preseason or we may add one as a Delisted Free Agent pre draft.

We will have 5 new players including Schultz and have the option of getting new Cat B rookies in.

You have to look at the other side though and the ones we have got in who have been very good to watch such as Howe , Crisp and Hill

Our Grand Final line-up with McStay replacing Frampton and Schultz replacing Ginnivan is a hell of a team.

Ginnivan trade feels like a move that Richmond would have made in their flag years. Trade role players while they have some value rather than getting in a bidding war to retain them. Higgins is a good example.

In previous years I reckon we would have offered an extra year or two at more $ to keep Adams & Ginnivan and ended up screwing our cap.
