I actually couldn’t give a shit about Ginnivan beyond us getting fair value in a trade. I was more focused on the system part of the post.Well if his forms remains the same as last season then yes you are probably right he will remain a fringe but if it returns to his best from the year previous then he would not remain a fringe player at our club or any other club.
40 goal a yr small forwards do not play 2nds at our club or anybody else,s and our chances of landing either King or Umarra as well you know are nought I have more chance of levitation.
The question is if Ginnivan at 20 does turn it around then what we traded him for is peanuts, he has a contract 4 long enough too see if he does turned then we have questions to answer.
I am very Glad we have Hill and I think he will be great for us but that does not mean we have get rid of other assets for nothing.
Ginni's career ended when they clamped down on his ducking. He still can't get it out of his game and he will always struggle. He doesn't have any other tricksI actually couldn’t give a s**t about Ginnivan beyond us getting fair value in a trade. I was more focused on the system part of the post.

The unfortunate thing about that is that the ducking rule may only apply to black and white stripes. We wait with bated breath.Ginni's career ended when they clamped down on his ducking. He still can't get it out of his game and he will always struggle. He doesn't have any other tricks
Nah, that’s a popular myth from oppo supporters that you’ve swallowed there. He got roughly 10 goals from head high frees in 2022 before they clamped down on him, meaning he still got nearly 30 goals for the rest of the year, despite being umpired differently to the rest of the comp. He was less effective this year because much like Stephenson before him, he started drinking his own bathwater and didn’t put in the work required to play at his best. Unlike Stephenson, he’s not athletically gifted enough to get away with it.Ginni's career ended when they clamped down on his ducking. Go re-watch the goal he got weaving in and out of players against Gold Coast. He’s got the tricks needed, he just has to put in the work. If the penny has dropped, the Hawks have a long term small forward. If not, he’ll be out of the system by the end of his contract. Time will tell which path he goes down.
Clearly you missed the whole bit where he came back to preseason unfit, got caught doing lines, and missed a big chunk of the season trying to get his fitness back to a level where he could actually be competitive.I think the drop off was primarily that he got moved higher up the ground as we wanted a quicker guy deep forward.
Was he any fitter in 2022? He didn't need to be as he was playing closer to goal and converting goals was his contribution. In 2023 we played different faster players as the deepest small and Ginni played higher up the ground. He's still learning to play that role and looked really lost early in the year. I know he's seen as a footballing genius by many, but he just looked to me like a player moved into a role that he didn't know what he was doing.Clearly you missed the whole bit where he came back to preseason unfit, got caught doing lines, and missed a big chunk of the season trying to get his fitness back to a level where he could actually be competitive.
His drop off was more than just goals scored if that’s your metric.
Let's remember that Will Kelly was supposed to be a top-end talent. As were the Brown brothers.Camporeales twins - one Is a left footer the other a right footer. If they have the silky skills of their dad then he is a perfect fit as that is what they currently lack.
Andrew Walkers son and Simon Beaumont's son.
The Carlton guy who talked up Ed Allan, Wardlaw and Sheezel, reckons Walkers son is top end talent would be close to Number 1 pick.
But there are no guarantees so let's wait and see.

Pretty well all true, with the addition that I have been doing my usual and watching the season just gone from start to finish, and I have to say that in the games he played, Ginnivan was really good. I still think we have given Hawthorn a star. I am going to hate seeing him play against us.Nah, that’s a popular myth from oppo supporters that you’ve swallowed there. Stephenson is becoming more and more of a VFL player by the minute. It's disappointing as he really looked like a generational talent in 2018.Nah, that’s a popular myth from oppo supporters that you’ve swallowed there. How much is a player worth it if they're causing trouble? Let's not pretend Ginnivan was only traded because of the Schultz trade.Pretty well all true, with the addition that I have been doing my usual and watching the season just gone from start to finish, and I have to say that in the games he played, Ginnivan was really good. I had to Google who he was - drafted before my time.So you’re saying Brayden Shaw can still make it…
Given the multiple reports in the preseason of the club being unhappy with the condition he returned in, it would be safe to say yes, he was fitter in 2022.Was he any fitter in 2022? Fitness is another factor for us trading him. Ginni is no runner and it's clear Fly values running. We don't have many poor runners left on the list in terms of young players.Given the multiple reports in the preseason of the club being unhappy with the condition he returned in, it would be safe to say yes, he was fitter in 2022.
But yeah, keep going with your different role narrative, despite the documented facts staring you in the face

Negative. You remind me of Homer. You were probably one of the posters said the same thing when we first recruited Cox too.

We don't have them of any age. Unless you're a tall, you'd want be either quick or have elite endurance.
