Should we take him back and get Norf to pay half his salary....😁
I’d do it. He’s a dickhead, but plenty of stars in the past have been too. Worth persisting with at a lower salary. Norfs problem is they stupidly signed him for 5 years @ $500k.

I am more curious as to know the Victorian club that is interested?

Can you imagine this joint if we brought Stephenson back at half wages?

The Lipinski file

Without the cap space or draft capital to land a big fish, Collingwood have picked off a couple of fringe players at premiership contenders to bolster their rebuilding list. The Magpies were active early in trade period, acquiring Nathan Kreuger cheaply from Geelong. Talks around their other target - Patrick Lipinski from the Dogs - have been a bit slower. The Pies have the upper hand here, given they have pick No.2 in the pre-season draft and the midfielder is out of contract. But despite some lingering resentment from the Adam Treloar saga, there is an expectation a deal will be done in good-faith for a third or fourth round pick, perhaps with some peripheral swapping and sliding.

Media trying to still make Story from The Treloar Trade

Leon's little boy was decked out in a Collingwood jumper in that recent clip of him having a kick so Leon can't have been too disenchanted with the club. I don't think our club has any more of a problem than the rest, we just attract the headlines and the media hover over every potential issue and hype it up. If anyone thinks the Richmond footy club (for example) with it's on-field thugs and off field crooks like Graeme Richmond weren't ruthless when it came to sledging or putting players off their game is kidding themselves. Yeah- it was just Collingwood. They literally king hit their way to a flag in 1973 and to this day Balme is celebrated as Mr. Nice Guy. I'm in Swan McKay's corner. He still has no time for him after what he did to Southby.
You just named 2 of the very few blues who I have time for. There was a bloke who wore 25 as well.
They weren't too bad then onfield

AFL trade news: multi-club ruck deal in the mix; Bobby Hill nominates club | Herald Sun

Sam Mitchell’s team has identified Lynch, who shone for the Magpies during a two-game stint in the seniors this year, as a future No. 1 ruckman after failing to pull off a trade for him last year.

While Hawthorn is keen to retain its top-end draft choice to help snare some outstanding young talent, it could potentially satisfy the Magpies for Lynch with multiple choices further down the order.

I must be a slow learner but i fail to see how multiple late picks satisfies us (apart from being kind to Lynch). We already have enough points for Daicos and Lipinski? I am also surprised that a few more clubs have not come harder for Lynch i.e. Richmond, Geelong.

So was everyone at Hawthorn a fan of Lynch - given they are trying to recruit him for the second year running? Yet Clarkson and GW have both left the club. Or did Mitchell already have the reigns last season re recruiting?

Maybe now it’s the Robert Harvey effect Too.

Multiple picks may be enough to then use and satisfy the Lipinski deal

We can’t offer a third rounder for lipinski and expect a anything higher for lynch. SPS went for a pick in the 50’s

Clarkson and Mitchell aren't particularly relevant for talent spotting. And if GWS's team rated him last year, they'd have good reason to rate him even higher now. Is it only GW out. Is the head of recruiting the same?

With multiple picks, there was discussion yesterday about whether picks excess to list spots are die for good, or whether they are just gone in terms of matching and come back to life after matching occurs. If they come back to life after matching, they could still be good for us.

Hawks were also keen on Lynch last year too before he re-signed.

If Daicos is drafted third we would be in a position to get him, Dib and a future 2nd.

I think it's insane we're considering trading our Luke Jackson-type. Trade Cox, play Lynch more! It seems simple to me.
