Have you seen the two play? Lol! Saying that I can't believe we are trading our Bont type? Keep Sier!
Cox is nothing like Lynch. And there's a bigger issue: you need a suitor. "Oh, we should trade Cox." Yes, the club wants this as much as anything but no one wants to get Cox for a 3rd rounder when they know they could get him for free or someone younger. We, as fans, over-estimate the value of players/the interest of clubs to acquire players that aren't popular.

Link?

cant find anything on this
They realised he was a bad acquisition. Not for what happens on the field but off it. Come back to the Pies for pick 27? No Bucks this time ...

No, if he did go somewhere, I'm lost as to where. Clubs either don't have capital or can't fit him in. Maybe Essendon, perhaps Carlton or St Kilda?

Cox is a great cheap backup. Could play if either Grundy or Cameron get injured. He also showed pretty good form at the start of the year before getting dropped. I think he'd kick 50 in a team of players who could deliver right. Lynch is an old fashioned sustained effort ruckman. He needs to improve his work around the ground and is a complete opposite ruck type to L Jackson.

I'm a huge Cox fan - I have 46 on my guernsey. Lynch's abilities stop at rucking. Coxy we know can kick goals.

It's going to be interesting to watch McCreery and Ginnivan develop. I like Ginnivan more but McCreery has played for less time (at least seriously). I'm yet to be sold on either but I'm slightly more in camp Ginnivan. May be his performances in the VFL and more game time. Both were great acquisitions, though, and hopefully will be much higher than their positions in redrafts.

Is this the same fella that played well in Melbourne’s GF win and one of the best young talls in the game?
The reigning Rising Star of the competition = 23 year-old who has managed 3 games in 5 seasons, 1 which was good, 1 which was average and 1 which was terrible.

I think it's insane we're considering trading our Luke Jackson-type. Trade Cox, play Lynch more! It seems simple to me.

I get where buzz is coming from he did say type

you know Lynch has got arms and legs and they both play AFL :)

Cox couldn't kick 50 if he had Daicos and Jarman streaming out of the centre. Let's not get carried away.

These are hawks picks:
5, 21, 24, 59, 65, 81

So 59/61?

I'd rather maybe a future 3rd instead for next year since we can't stockpile too many picks

Those picks may be the ones we add to get Lipinski without compromising our own points for Daicos.

I am keeping my fingers and toes crossed that GW and McRrae are talking to Sydney Stack. Probably being incredibly optimistic but hey we all gotta have hope.

I'd be all over this, but I thought he's close to re-signing with the Tigers, if he hasn't already done so on the sly. Don't have a Hun subscription anymore but iirc that's where I saw it mentioned.

If the Hawks wanted to go all 'Wittsy' and flick us their third and fourth round picks for Lynch then I'd be on board with that, especially if they proceed with their "fire sale" over the next 72 hours - in which case they'd both not give a stuff about their future third / fourth round picks and, as a bonus, you'd expect them to slip a bit further down the ladder next year.

Peoples takes on Lynch’s value are genuinely insane. Nothing more than a 3rd rounder. Get real ppl

I think the problem is that his best game in terms of ruck work was against the best ruckman in the competition.

I am not sure whether Fort, Ceglar and the other rucks on the merry go round can say that.

But yes it is a small sample size.

I reckon Sam Mitchell has identified that he can get the same output but for many more years from Lynch than Ceglar for a fraction of the price.

Treat Cox as your back up ruck who can spend time forward (and actually prepare him for that role) rather than a substitute for a KPF as we have been and he'll do just fine.

Cox has always been underrated as a ruckman, due mostly to the negative press he receives in a KPF role due to his issues with timing his leads / clunking marks on the lead and below average ability in body-on-body marking contests.
