He may very well be, but a complete rupture of the MCL is still a serious injury.

The point about his age not fitting in with when we are likely to be pushing back up the ladder again in 2-3 times is still very much a concern.
We need a hard body to protect our young fellas in the short term. Adams can't do it all by himself.

If it wasn't for his age I'd be all over him right now, but with him turning 30 in March….

If we were a couple of years further ahead on our "rebuild" and legitimately looking at playing finals / flirting with the top 4 already then yeah I'd go for him as a player who could improve our midfield and hopefully push us further up the ladder.

Agree, Greenwood can play, if this was 2018-20, it might be an astute pick up, but at this time of the rebuild all this would do is deprive McInnes or Tyler Brown of AFL games

If I thought we'd be beginning to challenge in 2-3, I'd take him in a heartbeat, but I think it's a longer re-build than that for us. I'd still add him though.

I know we need to rebalance our age spread in the list but beggars can't be choosers and he does represent a positional need.

If he's fit he's a big hard body in the clinches to help protect our youngest mids and help their development for a couple of years but we would certainly need to thoroughly investigate his medical prognosis.

I'm torn on the issue of his recruitment but would understand if we do.

No thanks, very hard pass. The hardest of passes actually.
It is so sad listening about Jack Frost's concussion battle and how he barely functions in society that, in my opinion, I couldn't justify sending McCartin out to play. People say he's recovered but I don't know if that's true. The brain is so complex and there's a growing body of research which would indicate otherwise.

McLennan was a former first round pick. Could be a handy addition to the ranks. This is a time when potentially the Pre-Season Draft COULD be used if the club wished to do so and award a full contract. He did play basketball ...

I rate him. A good insider who you can get running forward to isolate in a marking contest, as his hands are awesome. I think he's been underutilised in that regard. He'd actually be a really good development piece, as he can give us power in the contest and then switch with a young mid who isn't really ready for the continual bash and crash of starting centre.

I think the incident t6his year where he turned around and snotted an opposition player out of nowhere in the magoos is potentially an indicator that he may already be some distance down that unfortunate rabbit hole.

What's the go with Hugh Greenwood being a good player?
No thanks GC can just re draft him

Also, I don't see us touching a almost-30 year old. The age bracket we are after is 22-25, Wright/Hine has made that very clear.
You still need a balance of old and young, AFL ready and Players aspiring to play at AFL level. Gifting games to anybody let alone young recruits is not good. They also help set the standard and share their experiences.

Speaking of mature-age prospects:

Several likely talls (Dean, Alleer, Schlensog) and tallish intercept defender prospects (Pegoraro, Cox, Baker) listed; plus, at least one positive-sounding, big inside mid in Greg Clark, and various small forwards.

I know many of the names sre familiar by now.

Why would Sydney be considering him if he is all punch drunk and disorientated? You're pulling assumptions out of the air. Is there anything you are not an expert at? I don't rate him but, like you, i don't really know if he is cooked or not. Why not let time and sydney work it out

Hammelmann is the obvious one for me. Krueger and Johnson very speculative, or perhaps ultimately better down back still... Kelly is no forward...

Hammelmann moves well, good hands and is a long accurate kick

Relying too much on Mihocek and Cameron... room for another KPF

Beyond that I just hope they take someone who is ready to play with pick 2 in the rookie draft.

Not some quidditch playing 17 year old Scandinavian because he leaps like a meerkat and runs 20m like he has stolen something.

We can't free up an extra list spot now, everyone on the senior list has been re-signed.

Any deficit means our first round pick next year gets knocked back one spot.

It might have been addressed and I missed it, but I believe we still can just like GC did with Greenwood, Thompson and McLennan by cutting one of our contracted players and committing to re-draft them. We’re not going to though, IMO.

A thought on how we might get pick 23 off the dogs.

- Sam Darcy Bid on @ #2. Dogs requiring approx 2000 points.

- Pies make play for Dog's pick 23 trading 2 of our Pick's (Eg 38 and 46 + maybe something in future like a swap of hawks third for dogs third?)

- Use 23 to get back into 2nd round of 2022 and ensure we have enough points to cover a Daicos bid at 3 (eg Geelong pick 50 + Geelong Future 2nd for pick 23)

His deal equates to a million a year, I believe it was front loaded though.

Should have just let him walk to Adelaide.. taken two first rounders and whatever else.
I believe the extension to 7 years was done on a number closer to $900k pa.
The talk of around $1m pa was based upon a 4 yr deal only.

We're not going to be getting back into the 2022 draft until next year. Losing out on 2nd is not the end of the world and we may be able to organise a trade or otherwise until then. Wrighty is not known for his stockpiling of future picks and focuses more on the 'now'. Afterpay drafting always comes at a cost. Foreseeably, Melbourne will make one too many risks and have a bust thus affecting on field performance.

Hammelmann is far too logical for Collingwood. Everyone knows those players look good on someone else's list.

Felix Flockhart started for Gryffindor two years ago and played as a Chaser. He averaged 5 goals per game and several steals. A disappointing knockout in the Cup Final loss to Slytherin was an unfortunate end to his stellar season. His magic is wasted in the Muggle World because the Ministry of Magic will pinch his wand. A late convert to AFL, if selected he will be the first Quidditch-AFL convert. Rumours have it Daicos played although these are yet to be confirmed
