McStay had a great game in a final. Was quiet in Q4 but big in last 2 mins. Must have been knackered having to ruck against Nank all night. And will have to do it next week too.

If he comes to us, I’d like him playing a little leaner. Looks a touch too heavy to me which detracts from his speed and agility.

But he’d be best 22 in our side on tonight’s form.

McStay showed himself tonight to be a guy teammates would love to run out with. Gave his all and sacrificed for his team.

Obviously his kicking isn’t as good as Neale’s. However, he is capable of a 35 disposal and 10 clearance game once every 5 weeks.

It's the only way to get players out of their clubs is by offering them a better deal. You do what you have to within reason.

Apparently McStay has been involved in more score involvments than any other brisbane player for the last 7 years. That's why Brisbane don't want to lose him

Most of McStay’s score involvements would have been from a dinky 1m handballs near the start of the scoring chain.

It’s inflated by the fact he has players like Neale and McCluggage who can work in a phone box to make something out of nothing.

Not sure what people are seeing in McStay. He's getting slaughtered in the ruck by Nank. Looks quite slow and short to be a ruck/defender actually. He is not quite big enough or small enough to be an effective anything. I really hope we do not pick him up, not for any amount. I don't see much there to persist with, he is also getting on in age. Pass.

He played 80% in the ruck tonight, not his usual role. He's not Wayne Carey but if there are no other KPPs available, he may not be a bad investment. At least he can kick.

Huge game from McStay, and to play that well in a final, which was a cracker of a game, makes me think, if he can produce performances like that, he could be a very handy, versatile player for us.
