Only one problem with this news from inside the club, Melbourne don't have a first round pick, just the truth.

okay, let me spell it out for you seeing as you are having trouble linking the moving parts - the only reason Melbourne will take Grundy is due to losing Jackson to Freo. Now, if Jackson goes to Freo then Freo will most likely trade their 1st rounder and hence that traded pick Melbourne receives will then be on traded for Grundy.

You would be well served to leave out the snark and condescension - I am not a teenager in my parent’s basement making shit up to troll or big note.

Look at their stats coming through through the unders 18's virtually identical. And Bolton pick 29, 2016, Hill pick 24, 2018 and do you know why he was pick 24, he has talent! As for their career trajectories Shai has been able to play whilst Hill has had his hands full beating cancer, you didn't factor that in so glad I could clear it up for you.
If we're going off junior production for someone who is 23 soon then...

He played 17 games least season, prior to the cancer diagnosis. And he was bog average. Worse stats than McCreery with 10% of the physical pressure applied. He's nearly played 50 games and has literally not made any improvement since being drafted. It's actually mindboggling that one could spend so long in an AFL system and make literally no progress.

Bolton, on the other hand, has improved every single season except for his second season, and has been a lock in Richmond's best 22 since 2019.

Not sure what people are seeing in McStay. He's getting slaughtered in the ruck by Nank. Looks quite slow and short to be a ruck/defender actually. He is not quite big enough or small enough to be an effective anything. I really hope we do not pick him up, not for any amount. I don't see much there to persist with, he is also getting on in age. Pass.
Oh jesus a non ruck getting carved up by a genuine ruck... He had 21 and a goal

Heard this from a connection within the club and make of it what you will. Grundy gone to Melbourne with their 1st & 2nd plus Weideman back and Pies to pay $250K of Grundy’s contract. Hill from GWS also done as is McStay and we are seriously looking at Mitchell. Let’s see what pans out, I’ve no particular stake in the info.
Thats not happening for Grundy..

Plays for a kick mark team and would suit a chaos team, you clearly can't tell the difference when it comes to game styles. He went at pick 24 because he has speed, skill and goal sense, that's why we're interested in him, it's just the truth. You can continue with the he can't play narrative and that can be your truth.

I'd be a bit more excited if he'd made any progress in turning that potential into actual improvement, but he hasn't. More than happy for him to prove me wrong, but he is far from the first player to have the allure of potential without actually playing well.

Correct it's not, according to this in comes Weidemann, McStay, Mitchell, Hill and Frampton with a 1 (which Melb don't have) and their 2. The only thing missing from this story is a handful of magic beans, Apex believes it though which should tell you all you need to know.

What do you think Luke Jackson will be given up for?

We ain't getting the Weed, the other 3 are done deals. Not sure what will happen with Grundy

They keep raving about Scott's coaching but geez Louise he has had a conga line of quality players wander down to the cattery on an annual basis. And they are usually hardened experienced campaigners ready to slip right into the best 22. How do they keep getting everything they want? We have to fight down to the wire most of the time to grab far less quality during the past decade. We get Jesse White and they get Jeremy Cameron. We get Taylor Adams ( great player) but they get Dangerfield at his peak. And they have a history of getting very good soldiers like Isaac Smith, Tuohy, Rohan, and until recently Shaun Higgins who slip seamlessly into their side and play their role.

Perhaps the wheel is turning as Lipinsky has been a great pick up. Hopefully we get at least three of the many names linked to our club over the coming weeks. I've learned not to get my hopes up.

Playing for a club with a different set of rules is always an attractive option

The funny part about this post, despite your tone, the suggestion that Grundy will get us the pick that Jackson will. Jackson is a pick 3 (from memory) premiership player and young. Grundy is a former AA coming off a knee reco and hasn't seen his best in 3 years. Free will need to get a top 10 if not 5 pick to get Jackson. They will be trying to use their first round pick to get higher.
