Not sure.
He just has to improve areas of his game. There was a reason he was dropped, and some would say he should have been dropped weeks ago. Fans called him weak in last week's game.
He just needs to put his head over the ball, not back out of contests. He seems to wait for the ball to come to him, rather than want to do the hard stuff.

fwiw, I doubt he comes to vic if he does leave. It's either back in SA or stay in QLD.
Ah... we had someone just like him but he went home to mummy. He had 2 good disposal games off HB earlier this year when the Suns went through him when transitioning out of D50 but was poor defensively. Then stories were reportedly leaked to the media that he was "gettable". He was then moved back to his preferred HF role. Family in QLD that follow Suns state he doesn't provide any forward pressure, averages 1 tackle per game and state his kicking is significantly overrated in the media. He has trouble finding the ball forward of centre. Has 2 years left on his contract on good coin. Lot of $$$ for someone who averages 11 disposals a game. Where would you play him?

And none of them were blessed with the skills or class of Lukosius.
Maybe. But he has been tried at FF, CHF, HFF, CHB, HBF, wing and also tried as the pinch hitter in the ruck. He can't get near the ball. Fans claim he has an aversion to physical contact and half heartedly tackles. We already have players like him but at half the cost

Plus because Nicks is an incompetent coach, he’s been thrown all around the ground and named sub, and was only forced to play him in midfield due to injuries
That's the lot of a developing mid before they've locked in a starting mid role. They only go straight into the square when they're freaks or have issues which makes them unsuited to other roles.

All those issues with the pressure side of his game, I can't imagine Fly being interested in him at all.

What’s with all the Lukosius talk? I’d love to see him in black and white but we are next to zero chance of getting him. We have nothing of value to trade to get him, whereas other teams will.

Free agents are our only hope of landing a player of any note this off-season.

Is Ben Hobbs any better a midfield prospect than what we already have? Turns 21 in September.

Felt like there was positivity about him across his first couple of seasons now seemingly out of favour due to the rise of others. Averaged just under 20 disposals at AFL level last year in just his second season. Those numbers stack up well for a 2nd year player.

What's the go with Elijah Tsatas?

His junior career saw him rated a top 10 prospect and now before his second season is even done people are putting a line through him due to his kicking seemingly.

Did the talent identifiers get it completely wrong?

More from the Adelaide board:
"Keane and Berry to Pies for their future first seems fair."
"... Keane - unless F1 from Pies as WE have all the power here"
"Pick equal to late 1st or early 2nd in this draft hopefully if he goes."
"trade if we can get a top 20-25 pick"
"Pick in the 20s for Keane"
"...asking for Harvey Harrison plus some late picks"
"trade both Keane and Berry for their future first and current 2nd round draft pick"

I didn't realise Keane was worth the same trade value as Jordan Dawson (i.e. F1) :drunk:
24yo 3rd tall vs 24yo prime midfielder?

He's not a key forward. He's a third flanker who struggles in the contest, goes missing and struggles to defend. I don't think he suits the way we play.
It’s not often I see you criticising Suns players.

Yeah, i think most would say he has his issues with the contest and pressure. He has some things to work on, thats all. I like him, but I think he does have things to work on to improve.

I think you have to weigh up his pros and cons.

My view of him as a player is extremely smart and elite disposal. Is that a good enough offset for the lack of defensive pressure? It is workable?

Maybe my view is off of him , but ive always viewed him as a really nice kick. Something that would suit our game plan with the way we ping the ball around

No Idea IF we Bringing anyone in but I put list of Players I think could be De-Listed and be Trade Bait

De-List:

1.2 hitouts is elite?

If you're Caleb Daniel perhaps.

he's a taller version of Lipinski without the looks and hair but definitely a nicer leg on him

defensive transition has been our biggest weakness this year .. he would take us further backwards

pass

When I arrived at the G on Saturday night, I noticed Derek Hine keeping a close eye on the last quarter of the Adelaide vs Geelong match. Didn't want to bother him, but I wonder if he liked what he saw.

He liked the flashing colours and all the fun sounds.

Lipinski, Frampton, Cameron etc couldn’t get a game either at respective clubs

So I wouldn’t rule him out solely on that account

Lipinski is lucky to be getting a game now and Frampton is a money ball type.

Cameron hadn't found his feet and. Swans mate laughed when we picked him up. He's a an ok ruck and a very good mark.

I'm all for taking flyers on guys with an elite trait or physical tool. I'm just not sure why he keeps failing.

This thread is not worth reading. We have zero ability to do anything in a trade and tbh there’s really no one available to chase. We’ll probably get Keane back for a pint of Guinness and Finn will want a trade and we’ll get some throw away late third rounder for him. There’s no Harley Ried or Buddy in the draft to try to get into it.

I suggest the whole recruiting team shut up shop until the draft and watch as much u18 players as possible to get the magical pick 30 something as our number 1 pick.

With the age profile of our list and over reliance of veterans through our midfield in particular I wouldn't be taking the risk of trading away our future 1st.

If McGuane ends up being a top 10 prospect then not only is that a great outcome, if we end up not having a bounce like some predict then we'll land ourselves a valuable selection and we can wheel and deal with a clearer picture available of what's on offer.

Gold Coast showed what can be achieved with a low draft pick and numerous bids to match in the one year and even if we do bounce we'll still find buyers for or a player we can use our first on.

To be perfectly honest if we can't finish top 6 next year then the next best result would be bottom 4.

It's unpalatable but we essentially still got the best player in the draft with Daicos in a year we would have had pick 2 so a sugar hit of just one very poor season might be the list rejuvenation we need before the concessions start.
