Who says we can't get that from others on our list? First year to hopefully have both Dan & Checkers playing together. Second year for Schultz. Bobby. Billy. Beau. A fit JDG.

If he's a guaranteed 40 goals for any team, why are Bombers not wanting to keep him? Why isn't any throwing themselves at him?

He'll be 31 next year. He's known to not look after himself. Bomber supporters know how lazy & inconsistent he is. And how he only turns it on when he's contract is expiring. What a great attitude 🥴

I don't get the salivating over this bloke.
Totally agree it’s a risk
He’s totally inconsistent
He’s fat
He’s had issues off field

But he can play and he does kick goals and he can be a match winner
Don’t think we can close the door completely..

2nd ruck taking up a bench spot?

Don't nessecarily need a dedicated second ruck specialist.

Just watched Lachie Keeffe out point Brody Grundy in there last weekend in limited minutes.

We only need someone to come in and give Cameron a spell each quarter for limited minutes. Might be Mcstay or Frammmers pending match ups.

COLLINGWOOD’S ‘SIGNIFICANT ACHILLES HEEL’

The Midweek Tackle panel also discussed Collingwood’s position with regards to hunting defensive talent to support skipper Darcy Moore — especially after Irishman Mark Keane recently shunned a potential Pies return to remain an Adelaide Crow.

“They had a crack at Mark Keane, who has stayed at Adelaide on a three-year deal ... I just worry for Justin Leppitsch (Collingwood’s current list boss), because he’d be looking at that back six that was a huge flaw which was exposed so consistently throughout the season in the Collingwood back half.

“They need someone to try and straighten them up and help provide support for Darcy Moore, but internally, are there any miracles they can swing? Can Charlie Dean come up ... is there a wildcard? Can Reef McInnes (assist)?

“Unless they go and get a Toby Pink like North Melbourne from the state leagues ... I wonder whether this is almost the number one objective for Justin Leppitsch and the Collingwood management group.”

Ralph added: “Their Achilles heel is significant, and it doesn’t look like they’re going to fill in that gap.”

The aforementioned Tomlinson, Laverde and Keath loom as low-cost potential outside targets for the Pies to consider. Collingwood currently holds Picks 33, 48 and 51 at this November’s national draft.

2023 he actually looks quite fit here.

Our list is on a limited time frame to strike, Stringer just kicked 42 goals he's not coming off a poor season.
He has shown when he's knew to a club he puts in the work as do most players trying to win the respect of team mates. You'd be confident of him having a reasonable 2025 in black and white.
Even if he only helped with the one flag it was worth it on a 1 or 3 year deal.

Why is Stringer no longer referred to as ‘the package?’ In fact, why was he called that in the first place?

Assume it’s because of his early potential - which was never fully realised. Although he helped the Doggies to a flag.

Ambivalent about this one. The player at his best would be very welcome, but not so sure about the person.

Fmd I'd rather get Keeffe back from GWS before picking up Keath.

In fact I'd rather play 5 defenders over playing Keath.

Why are talking as if he isn't capable of doing a 40 goal season when he has shown he is capable of it multiple times in the past.

He's broken 40 goals 4 times in his career with his best year at Dogs kicking 56 goals.

He isn't coming off a poor season, no reported major injuries, but also has some flaws.

If we are only giving up 400k for 2 or 3 seasons and a 3rd rounder for him why wouldn't you do it?

He was called the package because he could do it all on the field in his younger days. Unlike ginni, we never hear about stringer and his off field problems. We know he attends mosques and that's about it. I just think he's a bit simple like manic. He could even be on the spectrum and is doing very well for himself if that's the case. We need an attacking option up forward. We have all the pressure bringers, we need goals

Agree. The trouble is his best is inconsistent and the person???? I do know some close relatives, but best not convey their impressions on a public forum. ;) Footy-wise, I just don't see him as a team player at all, which I would hope would be one of the most important considerations regarding anyone being recruited by the Pies.

I wouldn't, because I don't rate him as highly as you do.

I'd prefer younger, fitter, more professional players coming into our team. And build for when our over 30's retire.

The great thing is that he supposedly gave himself the nickname "the package." What's not to love?
