Apparantely that request for pick 12 was not true, according to Sam Edmund.
Think we'll still aim for pick 20, which hopefully comes to fruition, it'll end up around mid 20's as it is with bids.

In terms of suns academy kids, soon they wont be able to get them all.
They have 4 players in the U17 futures game, maybe 5 if you include Kalini White who has a decision to make next year.
Maybe the request for 12 was in a separate deal outside of Noble. Eg we give academy points for 12, they give 20 for Noble.

Both the Age and Cal Twomey have reported the pick 12 request. On weight of numbers I'd believe them over Edmund.

Also Edmund has a habit of letting the tail wag the dog when it comes to his reporting.

I'm not sure we'd be looking at Stringer for his forward pressure ability. All of Elliott, McCreery and Schultz do the heavy lifting there.

Forward pressure is a group effort. We need everyone chairing and closing down the exit options. McReery’s chases are ineffective if there are free options running with the player he’s chasing.

Utter garbage given McReery averages a lot more tackles than Schultz and Elliot.

By the time the finals are over, it may be easier to list the players we HAVEN'T been linked to...

This annual thread is definitely crazier when we miss the finals.

We have other ‘obsessions’ when we play in September…but when we miss out, we make stuff up to fill the void.

Happy to pay the “$400k difference” if they hand over pick 12.
If it’s true that we have some cash in the kitty then this may be a way to prise a good pick out and get back in the draft.
We have options then such as having a crack at Houston who’d really bolster our half back line or go to the draft and recruit a genuine key position forward.

Doesn’t chase.
Doesn’t tackle.
If he wants to come to us we might need a future 3rd also to even consider it.

Rd 21 Essendon v Freo - Stringer had 10 tackles
Rd 6 Essendon v Crows - Stringer had 5 tackles

In another half a dozen games he had 3 to 4 tackles.

average tackles is 2.5 which is average.

Which is more than Daniher - who is 1 tackle a game but not much is said about him.

I may go watch our games against Essendon to see his efforts against us.

Mate what are you doing??
You’re not helping Leppa negotiate with those facts!

Future 1st and Noble they can give us 12 and 20 fck the future 2nd
If you you break that deal down into its separate components it’s much better than including the 2nd, but it’s not there yet:

F1 for 15 or 16
Noble for 24 or 25

Lombard and Ashcroft receive bids before 12 with Marshall a possibility and we’re also being conditioned for St Kilda receiving band 1 compensation. Marshall will receive a bid before 20 and Kaku will be around the mark as well. It’s likely too that GC will want to accumulate points with 12 so they’d look for picks in the 30’s-40’s coming back.

Noble for 24-25 in isolation is fair value if he were uncontracted so that’s a minor loss, but you roll that into our F1st for a mid teen pick and even with the strength of the draft it’s late. Hold the F1 back until Richmond have moved their three players on and deal on our pick from Fremantle.
