Sidebottom is a very good player, quite comical reading the replies, some people clearly have no idea what the word hypothetical means.

He's basically Brent Stanton, I bet most on here wouldn't class him as an A grader or untouchable, let alone elite as some may claim about Sidey.

Elite players don't continually kick 25m passes that consistently fall 2-5m short of their intended target.

If a great deal presented itself the club would be negligent if they didn't look at it, perhaps a gun key forward would tickle their fancy.

Pretty obvious he was playing under duress after he returned from breaking his thumb, a lot of one arm tackles etc. the game he did his thumb he was BOG and largely carried us over the line, much more consistent than stanton, after a good off-season is on the verge of elite.

i find the comment about sidey's kick interesting (see http://www.news.com.au/sport/breaki...the-afl-revealed/story-fnect155-1226419850156) maybe this season due to injury... in any case a required player with the best outside run in our side. nonsense to not consider a great trade were it offered but i wouldn't be shopping him around, unlikely another club would be so willing to do a swap of a comparable player for sidey, nor would a pic ever come with enough certainty to be a good enough bet to make...

Perhaps a filter could be passed through all trade suggestions:
a) does it meet a need in our list i.e. fix a problem?
b) would it be a fair trade?
c) what's the impact 2-3 years from now when we should be contending given our list profile?

On the above basis, any trade for a small forward/midfielder/defender would be thrown out, no need UNLESS its for a krakouer type who could provide some dynamism different to what the prince of perth or elliot offer, or something special with polish/speed.

I wouldn't be looking to particpate actively in drafting kids over the next few years given time to develop... maybe a CHB/FB in the draft would provide some good insurance for us given our injury prone KPP.

I would be looking for a key forward in the VFL/NEAFL/SANFL/WA league who can't break into the top 8 sides and then throwing some good cash at them. A Key forward with a bit of bulk (like dawesy/leigh brown) who can build a partnership with Moore and maybe Cloke if he's still kicking on. A player around the early 20's age might just slot in nicely.

any ideas on a likely trade for treloar? Witts recently declared his reluctancy to move to NSW

And posts like this just make it go on foverever

That's what happens with Chinese whispers!

You would think Scodog10 through a hand grenade into Bigfooty by his "hypothetical" suggestion :drunk:

1116 SEN are reporting that James Aish has requested a trade out of Brisbane, nominating Collingwood his club of choice.

There has been no official word from Brisbane or Aish's management as of yet.

This is from AFL Draft, Trade, Free Agency, List and General News Facebook page

Yeah I just saw that too. Not sure how up to date that FB feed is and whether SEN are reporting it now. Will be rapt if true.

I wonder if there has been some manoeuvring over the weekend involving Freeman, Seedsman etc that now means we could probably satisfy Brisbane with the required picks.
