1116 SEN are reporting that James Aish has requested a trade out of Brisbane, nominating Collingwood his club of choice.

There has been no official word from Brisbane or Aish's management as of yet.

This is from AFL Draft, Trade, Free Agency, List and General News Facebook page

Can't stand pages like that with a passion. It's basically posts summarising HS, Age or AFL.com articles and shitty photoshop jobs with the latest trade rumours.

Is Aish actually any good?

From Knightmare's 2013 Phantom Draft:

"Profile: Aish is an elite user of the footy and just has more time and space than the next player. He’s proven in the SANFL for a number of years now that he’s made of AFL stuff and will have a long career in the AFL as someone I’d class as a probable 250 gamer. In space, in traffic, it doesn’t matter for Aish. He has rare composure and continues to make the right decisions and never seems rushed with the extra time and space he seems to have. By both hand or foot he consistently he uses it well and is one of the more duel sided players you’ll see at this young age rarely missing a target. He also has excellent vision and lowers his eyes finding the correct target every time making him a threat whenever he kicks it into the forward 50. Aish is a strong mark overhead for his size and has a strong 1v1 game despite his lean build and can also pose a threat when he pushes forward. Aish is an impressive athlete with his ability burst out of traffic with the pill, to sidestep and has a real burst of speed on him in a straight line also. He just so naturally takes on the game and seems to enjoy it and can generate that drive with his run and carry. Aish still needs to get stronger but that will come. He’s one of the relatively younger players in this draft and has played and played well against more mature opposition and even handled the tag well so he’s not something to be concerned about. Despite his lean build he is not a soft outside player and is very willing to get his hands dirty and go hard when it’s his turn but he looks more likely to settle on a wing or back flank as he’s not going to be a clearance king or a monster contested ball winner at the next level with what most likely will remain a relatively lean build but he doesn’t have to be with the rest of his game complete. Aish is one of the lowest risk players in this draft looking at what he’s done against senior SANFL competition and I have no question he’ll be one of the very best to come out of this draft. Also comes from a very famous South Australian football family and has it in his blood."

I don't know about you, but when you add in his impressive debut year, it gets me pretty excited.

From what I have read on the AFL website it sounds like he is staying at the Lions.

I take it you missed round 1 pies v lions where he couldn't do a thing right, fumbled the ball all night, missed targets all night and barely got a kick

Probably why I didn't notice him.

Sunday afternoon announcement that no one has actually heard on SEN, let alone heard from any other source.

Seems legit.

Just a Facebook page that is known not to be 100% Correct with Posts

I'd happily straight swap freeman for aish. I'd even throw something in. If we lose freeman and gain aish that's a huge positive result for me.

It would be perfect seems that the perfect can't see Freeman staying now if the news is true with Aish

If Aish wanted to stay at the Lions he probably would have signed by now. My feeling is that he is keen on Hawthorn.

Collingwood remains the favourite to win Lion James Aish's signature but some rival clubs suspect Hawthorn could yet swoop in late to snare the on-baller.

Aish is yet to inform the Lions that he wants a trade, but equally has given no indication that he is about to sign the three-year contract the club has had on the table for much of this year.

Speculation is that one of Aish's suitors is still participating in the finals.

Could the Aish trade depend on both Freeman and Seedsman? ie

Seedsman to Norf for pick 33 (2015)
Freeman to Saints for pick 23 (2015)
Aish to Collingwood for pick 25 and pick 33.

It's effectively Seedsman and Freeman for Aish, leaving us with pick 7 and a second round pick for Treloar. I daresay that will be the deal that gets done due to GWS wanting points for THIS years draft. I'd also speculate GWS throwing us a round 3 pick back, because they need to shed their list by more than it grows, and we've already got rid of so many players, we need to bring them in.

So Treloar and 3rd round 2015 for Pick 7 and round 2, 2015 (probably the one from the Saints due to value).

I know it seems very hopeful. I think all of Lions, Giants and to a lesser extent the Saints will want more value. But if we stick firm it could get done. The other options are to bring Oxley into things for the Lions trade, and our first round 2016 pick for the Treloar trade, in which case I would not hope for something else in return, I'd expect something.

Geez I hope Hine and Rendell have done their work in these next two drafts because we're going to be making some real late selections.
