Could the Aish trade depend on both Freeman and Seedsman? ie

Seedsman to Norf for pick 33 (2015)
Freeman to Saints for pick 23 (2015)
Aish to Collingwood for pick 25 and pick 33.

It's effectively Seedsman and Freeman for Aish, leaving us with pick 7 and a second round pick for Treloar. I daresay that will be the deal that gets done due to GWS wanting points for THIS years draft. I'd also speculate GWS throwing us a round 3 pick back, because they need to shed their list by more than it grows, and we've already got rid of so many players, we need to bring them in.

So Treloar and 3rd round 2015 for Pick 7 and round 2, 2015 (probably the one from the Saints due to value).

I know it seems very hopeful. I think all of Lions, Giants and to a lesser extent the Saints will want more value. But if we stick firm it could get done. The other options are to bring Oxley into things for the Lions trade, and our first round 2016 pick for the Treloar trade, in which case I would not hope for something else in return, I'd expect something.

Geez I hope Hine and Rendell have done their work in these next two drafts because we're going to be making some real late selections.
They don't rate this draft anyway . I foresee a lot of picks going to the Academy clubs and steak knives in return .

We still have to make two selections though don't we? Or one selection and an upgrade? I don't know. I have heard that it's a shallow draft and Hine doesn't rate it, but selections will be made and they will be late, so hopefully he can find some talent somewhere.

Perhaps a filter could be passed through all trade suggestions:
a) does it meet a need in our list i.e. fix a problem?
b) would it be a fair trade?
c) what's the impact 2-3 years from now when we should be contending given our list profile?

On the above basis, any trade for a small forward/midfielder/defender would be thrown out, no need UNLESS its for a krakouer type who could provide some dynamism different to what the prince of perth or elliot offer, or something special with polish/speed.

I wouldn't be looking to particpate actively in drafting kids over the next few years given time to develop... maybe a CHB/FB in the draft would provide some good insurance for us given our injury prone KPP.

I would be looking for a key forward in the VFL/NEAFL/SANFL/WA league who can't break into the top 8 sides and then throwing some good cash at them. A Key forward with a bit of bulk (like dawesy/leigh brown) who can build a partnership with Moore and maybe Cloke if he's still kicking on. A player around the early 20's age might just slot in nicely.
Or perhaps the simplest way is "the author is a dick head, move on"

No way do we give up Seedsman and Freeman for aish.
Don't know what all the fuss is about he played 11 fairly ordinary games this year, didn't impress at all, no reason to think he's going to make an impact at collingwood. If we can swap him for a Sinclair, Oxley, Blair type footballer it's a break even, otherwise forget it. Any trade assets we have will go to treloar.

If Freeman wants to leave. Be hard to stop him so might as well get his Trade to get a Young Gun in

If Seedsman and Freeman are going to leave anyway, why not? Aish was ahead of Freeman in that draft anyway and Seedsman thinks he's the new rat pack.

Seedsman has run out of opportunities. Decision on Freeman is not ours but his.
Aish has been rated highly, myst give quality to get some. Or in our case we give away potential quality.

Aish is an interesting one, from what I see on the surface he looks like your everyday vanilla dime a dozen mid, I don't see him as a massive impact player, more a death by 1000 cuts player.
Maybe he needs to get to a more competitive club and quickly realises he needs to step up big time to play and that is where the improvement might come from rather than the comfort of playing in an poor side.

What's this stuff about Tapping?

A fellow poster told me a few weeks ago another Club is heavily into him.

Same poster also told me about the Karnezis potential retirement......play nice now jmac70 :D

Would be disappointed to lose him.

Agreed I really rate him. Everytime I have heard him speak he has impressed me.

Aish is your bottom 5 for impact but he's top 5 for consistency.

He's not Dangerfield but he's like a Sidebottom.

And he comes in and does his job, hits targets and makes smart decisions.

I hope we get him, the youth we have is top end and if we can pick up 1 more young key forward our list will be in great shape for quite some time.

Seedsman just needs to get his body right. He was hindered again this season.
He's a better player than aish at full fitness by miles.
Aish couldn't even get a solid 22 lock in the shittest team in the comp this year. I'm confused why everyone thinks he's the answer to our problems.

Word on the street/Seed is that it is not the body, it is the mindset to take care of that body that is hindering him in the end.
Aish has been hindered by injury too, people saw enough upside in him when he was drafted. More then Seeds.
Then there is the bromance with Scharenberg to consider .

I know stats don't tell the full story but Aish's first year vs Seedsman this year.

Aish will be a 250+ game player while Seedsman is 50/50 to take the next step.. he could turn it on but more likely to finish up a good VFL player.

I'd happily straight swap freeman for aish. I'd even throw something in. If we lose freeman and gain aish that's a huge positive result for me.
That's my attitude too. I figure if Aish had been available in 2013 at pick 10 we would have taken him every day of the week. If we have to chuck in a pick on top of Freeman to get him I'm more than happy with that.

Neither set of stats exactly jump out at you and say "wow.. he's a Gun or future gun". Also to be fair Seedsman would have more damage to his game in terms of run and carry / meters gained which is not reflected at all in the stats.
