The worry is Aish will choose the Hawks now, I mean who wouldn't?

I agree and said as much a couple of weeks ago, however how on earth can they fit him into their cap.

The Hawks are flooded with multiple all Australians from other clubs at their prime "playing for under's ".

He may well however chase the big $$'s at this early stage of his career that may give us an edge.

hawthorn this trade period to pick up aish would have to lose there f/a this year to have room
in the cap or some one like lake missing out

Just a bit of news about Adam Oxley, this from a board members son (not going to say which board member though).

The club still don't know what he is doing, has told the club he will discuss his future after the Copeland on Friday night.

Doesn't sound good, the son said that Brisbane are definitely into Oxley, they want him big time, even if they keep Aish or he goes to the Hawks.
Should make the Aish trade simple if he nominated us then.

The worry is Aish will choose the Hawks now, I mean who wouldn't? And if that happens we lose Oxley for a third round pick and really get little back in return comparatively.
Treloar. His grandad wanted him to go there and they did express an interest, but received an emphatic no.

The Hawks ageing list is less attractive for young players than you might think.

I would have thought a fringe player like Oxley would want to start talks as soon as possible, so it does sound like he is pretty sure he has an offer somewhere. He'll probably just ask the club whether we'll beat it and if we won't he'll announce his intention to leave. It would be a shame but we should get pretty good return on our investment for a rookie pick. I could definitely see a spot in the side for him going forward and is a very good depth player but won't shed any tears if he is part of a trade for Aish.

You just know Brisbane will try the PSD route with Oxley and get him for nothing.

I get the feeling from Matthews and Swann at Brisbane, there may be a fair bit of bitterness involved.

Lucky we traded Beams last year. They'd PSD him this year for sure.
Not sure why there would be bitterness. At the time everyone thought the Lions were runaway winners in that trade.

Danger for 8 years
I just saw this too ..
8x years @ 1.2mil per

Pretty decent offer that I doubt Adelaide could match, giving them a compo pick and Danger a direct passage to us should he accept.

Nothing lost, and gives us our draft picks to snare Treloar still. Bold move, would be great!

Plus this is the last year of the current CBA, if when the cap goes up in 2017 we will be able to retain players

where did you see this?

where did you see this?
It was on Facebook, my mate tagged me in it, but it was the only page talking about it.. No one else mentioned it anywhere

I'm not overly fussed that Aish will choose Hawthorn.
The likelihood is alot of their premium players who are champions of the game are slowly going to be phased out in the next year or two.

It makes more sense for Aish to grow with a group of core players and come through with them.

Should he leave, I believe he is Collingwood bound.

some ones imagination I think. danger wants to go to geelong and that's where he will go to
Announced by Patrick Dangerfield's manager, Paul Connors apparently. Not to say it will translate into us landing him, but confirms a pretty decent offer to him.

I don't really believe this 'offer' is legit, but if it is I don't like the idea of an 8 year contract to someone who's what, 26? Look at what's happening with Franklin now and how massively a contract like this could hurt us. The contract given to Tom Boyd will be a huge deterrence to Footscray winning a flag with their current side, and I don't want us to be in the same boat.
