Probably not as they will likely need it for Carlisle. What is St kildas first pick?
Could we get it for Freeman + BenK?
Again and again, but I acknowledge that some people were against that move - I don't remember having a clear opinion then.If you say so. Just pointing out that at the time we pretty much paid market value, just on a longer contract. It's clear now why the Hawks wouldn't give him a 3rd year. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.
Isn't that just 400k every year?Melksham to the Dees on 1.6 million over 4 years.
Madness.
I would take either of Mason Shaw or Mitch Harvey, both young tall KPF's who could pitch hit in the ruck and have both shown a bit, my preference would be Shaw who seems very mobile for his size and has kicked a few bags in the reserves.Mason Shaw as a DFA anyone? Would come at zero cost with huge upside as a key tall with two years already in the system. Knightmare your opinion on this?
Random people been saying it for months. Crazy if true. Don't think it could be us, surely we don't have the cap space to land him and Treloar. Will be annoyed if he goes to the Tigers. Gives us less reason to hang it on them.Anyone else starting to hear some Danger chatter re Geelong maybe not getting him but a move back to Vic is happening?
It's pick 5. I doubt they'll use it for Carlisle and there's no chance they'll use it for Freeman and Kennedy.Probably not as they will likely need it for Carlisle.
Yes, from his financial viewpoint it might be beneficial to take the St.Kilda offer but I don't think the antagonism towards him is to do with his future. It's all about his past - if I'm in my very first job and being paid $100000 a year without doing what I've been paid to do and my employer is giving me (and paying for) the best medical treatment and ongoing training for two years then I'd do everything I could to repay them for their faith in me. The risk of a relatively small financial loss would be more than worth it, and the actual and potential payoffs both financially, professionally and personally would make it an easy decision. I'd be amazed if he didn't see that. I'm hopeful that this is all manager generated and his friends and family will make sure he makes the right decision to stay with Collingwood. Thanks for adding 1st year salaries - i thought it was quite a bit higher for first round picks. (can i ask where you got that?)

Im not saying he is worth 250k- im saying that is what he is being offered elsewhere, and it is up to us decide how close to that we want to get to try to keep him- because the numbers being thrown around just wouldnt cut it.
There seems to be a lot of antagonism int his thread towards him if he leaves - and i think that is completely uncalled for. Taking the garaunteed money, or getting us to come closer to matching it, is clearly the correct decision for him at this stage - and i wouldnt begrudge him at all if he took it, and would be disappointed if other pies fans turned on him (which some appear to be doing already)

Just spent ten minutes looking for it - no luck - can you point me in the right direction?Read the Nathan Freeman thread, there's an update there.
Yep, but even that is way overs for a player who wouldn't get a game in a top 6 side.Isn't that just 400k every year?
Sorry, not from the club - from a friend of his, (he and I have been talking).Just spent ten minutes looking for it - no luck - can you point me in the right direction?
But... people are advocating the 400k for Scharenberg who can barely crack into a top 12 side...Yep, but even that is way overs for a player who wouldn't get a game in a top 6 side.
If you can't see the difference you're mentally deficient.But... people are advocating the 400k for Scharenberg who can barely crack into a top 12 side...
Berg ain't on 400k, anyone who says that is greatly inflating his numbers, at least for the first year of his new contract.But... people are advocating the 400k for Scharenberg who can barely crack into a top 12 side...
I am a teacher and taught Tom Bugg back in the day. Only English, I can take no credit for anything he does on the field but I can report he was a mad Pies fan. Not that it may mean much in the grand scheme of things, but good to know that whether he comes to us or not he did bleed black and white in his teens.

Cliff notes please!Balmey is on SEN now... And it sounds like Kreuzer has failed his medical despite him trying to brush the question aside.
Wowee this is good listening!
