Good. Hopefully they price themselves out of keeping hogan. He will be lovely up forward with Moore in a couple of seasons..
The offers for Hogan are going to be insane. Mentioning of a 6 year $9 million deal from a certain club up North (that we've all been teasing).

Hes crap, didnt want him from the get go. Kicking was always totally overated
If you say so. Just pointing out that at the time we pretty much paid market value, just on a longer contract. It's clear now why the Hawks wouldn't give him a 3rd year. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

Wasnt clinton young on about the same money for us? Guarantee he plays more games than him
We simultaneously needed more age 24-29 players from a successful culture, along with outside run and carry. Got seduced by the fact that he played 20 games in 2012 for a strong Hawthorn team and has a 60m boot.

Melksham on the other hand, offers Melbourne nothing they don't already have with Petracca yet to debut. Weird decision from the Dees. Not like Melksham is a senior leader who can provide direction and culture, either.

I was going to say the same thing. If Butcher can get games in front of Harvey and Shaw, how good could they possibly be?
They both have significant flaws to their game which is why they never featured at AFL level, but many Port fans felt they deserved a chance. In the case of Shaw, it's his lack of size and strength. Built like a rake. Whereas in the case of Harvey, his fitness is well below par so his defensive efforts are poor. But in terms of talent, both have it. I'd take the risk on Harvey, right now our main key forward in the VFL is Gault.

You'd think that Freo would be targeting him rather than McCarthy.

I hope Brisbane do get him on that kind of coin. They'd **** up their salary cap for years.

I agree with that so you got a like. It is however different to your original post.

Oh well, thank you my lord for the like.

I doubt very much that most people, including me, understand the new rules as we work through them and sometimes misinterpret them. Happy to say though that everything I said regarding Treloar and Freeman is correct. Namely Freeman on 250k is a totally reasonable wage for a top 10 pick in a 2nd contract and that Richmond's offer for Treloar couldn't be beaten by our offer.

surely harvey will be playing afl next season
Brent Harvey from North?

Of course he is.

It will almost be North's greatest achievement as a club if they can claim to have the player who has played the most games in VFL/AFL history.

They even made him the sub in round 23 this year instead of resting him, all for the record.

I don't spend too much time on here, so decided to go on Tigers board last week and posted a box of Tigers Tissues on one topic about Treloar. Surprise Surprise, I copped a 1 day ban. lol
Not that I was too fussed. They can ban me permanently if they want.
It was just a silly prank to see how many bites I got.
They went of like firecrackers.
Some people on these forums are just brainless.

That is pretty harsh on North. They may not have had much success lately but I admire them as a club.

I cant see what the (T)issue is. They deserve everything that comes there way and a reality check is a great beginning.

Hilarious how chirpy they all were just a couple of weeks ago. Serves the cocky campaigners right.

They will forever feature in the trivia question: Which club was the last one to play finals against Richmond :)

I got annoyed at their supporters when they beat us by 91 points.
The behaved like hyenas that day as did that clown Riewoldt.
Karma came back to bite them lol

Lets get the deal done for Treloar first and then all on the Richmond board are fair game. If only we could arrange a live link to Caroline Wilson when the papers are lodged.

Agree. Also, if Treloar announced he wanted to go to Richmond we'd be copping it just as much but probably deal with a bit better.

But according to everyone's favourite Tiger insider, the deal to the Pies is very suss and we shouldn't jump the gun because we may have put a few noses out of joint.

Trade news from Damien Barrett on TFS
- Bennell - would like to go to Freo, but people around him think he would be better in Melbourne. Richmond showing interest.
- Bugg - considering leaving GWS. Out of contract. Hasn't mentioned anything to Heath Shaw (who is on the panel).
- Lennon - may not be as much money for him at Tigers with potential recruits.
- Karnezis - Not sure if he wants to stay in AFL at all. Will make a decision on that this week.
