I would actually do that. There's a long history of Brisbane players coming to Collingwood and turning into guns.
Eg:Bucks, Crisp and Aish

While the lions ruin everyone's career. Prime example beams. He could have been an absolute champion.
Molloy for Mal Micheal :(

Aish and Crisp shouldn't even be spoken in the same sentence when you're comparing them to what Buckley was as a player.

Not yet anyway, Aish has potential, he needs some beef on him though.

I'm going to get crucified for this, but Aish is going to be our best young player. I rate him higher than Treolar. Moore will probably challenge him though.

I might rate him so high because of everytime I look at him with the long sleeves and good over-head marking skills. I immediately think of Bartel.
Bartel IMO, best Geelong player from the era excluding GOD.

Don't get me wrong, I think his skills are great. Just needs a bigger body and confidence in himself to do what he knows deep down he can do.

If they happen, then he will be really great. But they don't always happen. It comes down to the player and their mentality and what they really want to get out of football. Some players have the talent inside them but find it hard to utilize unless they're at their peak fitness wise and mentally, so they simply strive to be the best, no matter what, and they put in the hard yards to get there (Buckley, Pendlebury). - Some players don't put in much effort, but are just blessed with natural talent. (Swan) - And some players have very little talent but are absolutely relentless in their goals and make up for their deficiencies with their effort in the gym and also their playing intentions (Blair, Goldsack, Greenwood) etc... These are the guys that never get individual achievements but are always a vital part to how a team works and plays.

Aish needs to go into that Buckley category to become great, He isn't someone that can just get around on pure skill alone. Watching him earlier this year, when he played it felt like we were a man down, his body just didn't allow him to get into the right spots and beat out the bigger men for the ball, and his mind was telling him he couldn't do what he clearly does have the ability to do.

Later in the season, he picked up a lot of confidence and began showing off the talent he does have, but his body still lets him down when it comes to strength and endurance.

He needs to set himself clear goals and work as hard as he can to make them happen. Especially in the gym. I've seen him at a coffee shop in Abbotsford and even got the chance to say Hi to him. (Seemed very shy, quiet-ish, but he had a nice circle of mates around him)

I'm the same age as him and can pretty much say that I was around the same size as him even though he is an AFL football player. (Not muscle tone wise, but just in general body shape and 'presence' - I am also taller, but, it's not how I judge how Imposing a person is). He is a mature man in a child's body!
His body needs work to get to the point where other men of his age may already be at and it's just the way he is built. If he puts in the work in the gym he'll have no problem turning it around and making himself a machine.

He has the tools he just needs to learn how to use them correctly, if that makes sense.

Some players are just like that though. For example Bartel himself isn't the biggest guy, neither is goldsack. I don't think he needs to get bigger, just needs to get stronger. If that makes sense?

I think he should be fine for endurance is girlfriend is an Olympic runner, and nice to see them running on the treadmill.
We can't underestimate the lack of development/progression those 2 years Brisbane may have caused.

P.S. If you're the same age Aish, we are the same age too.

Bigger/Stronger, I use them interchangably.

Clearly he's not going to grow substantially 'bigger' but yes, everyone has the ability to become 'stronger', and normally it does result in you getting bigger too with your muscles pumping up and the overall tone of them being more rugged.

From my uneducated and highly volatile and hypocritical opinion (so make of it what you will), that from seeing Aish in person I could instantly tell that he hasn't spent much time in the gym. Whether that's Brisbane's fault or not is another story.

Things will fall into place for him he just needs the determination to do so.

Dunn is still a good player, don't be too quick to judge. Not mobile enough for our game style these days, but will do well for you guys at FB. Will hate to see him in your colours, but happy he's getting another chance. I'm looking forward to the gloaty posts in six months time about how you lot 'discovered' a gem, just like Bucks' unprecedented genius move of putting Howe down back ;).
You want to be careful coming onto our board and making positive comments about bucks. We don't tolerate it, especially coming from opposition supporters. Doesnt matter if you were kidding. It's generally accepted that if something worked, it came from gubby, who you may praise;)

I don't get the Gubby hate at all.

It's not his fault Marsh is homesick and wanted to go home nor is it his fault that the Saints gave Brown a better offer than what he deserved. Matching the offer Frost got from Brisbane would be insane as well.

He brought in the number one ranked player for effective kicks inside 50 ( a player we have lacked in a big way) and one of the best forwards with forward pressure acts again an area we have struggled with for a number of years.

I am sure he knows we are struggling with key backs and he is doing his best to find a replacement but it wont be easy. I am fairly confident we will sign a c grade key back to help fill the void for a year which isn't as bad as over paying for the players that have left the club.

Dunn isn't a great footballer but he is better than the depth we have for that position and it's not like he is going to hurt us salary cap wise or cost much to get a trade done. I was like WTF when I first heard the news but then I realised he is an upgrade on Williams at least lol.

What? Howe played down back during his last games at Melbourne too and apparently he didn't enjoy it too much.

One of the big reasons why he came to Collingwood was because Buckley enticed him with the promise of more time up forward, but obviously it didn't happen and Howe had to accept he was now a backman.

Playing him in defence was nothing new even before he came to Collingwood.

I think that was his point. Some on this board claimed it was some master move, when the Dees had already done it.

Fair enough, can't remember who would have said it was a master move though. Thought we were all on the same page with disliking Buckley this year? :p

The wingers come out in force at every opportunity. And then repeat the same thing 4 times when no one replies to them.

Whingers*.

We don't have many good wingers at Collingwood, let alone have them come out in force.

He lacks pace. However, he is solid.

Dunne is an upgrade on both Brown and Frost. The guy has clean disposal while both Brown and Frost cost up games the way they turned it over.

I found myself incrementally lowering the volume today to find out if there was a level at which Terry's voice stopped grating...
... it's zero.
Ahhh terry wallace....
They found something for him to do, gave him a title that sounds grand,
He went off to the solarium....
SEN good deed done, looking after Terry giving him a little task to do....

The List Manager???? Seriously what is that?

Can't make sense of that post... Something about the Solar System? o.o
Are they bringing back Pluto and renaming it "Jarryd Blair"?

Terry Wallace
List Manager

Never forget his great work for Richmond, it's still giving so much to them

I won't crucify you but don't agree. He has a long long way to go to be a good afl player let alone our best young player.
