Vicky Park

what's not to like about this inclusive pic?

2 hotties; a rich white bald guy; and a ranga of uncertain parentage

From left, Kate, the Princess of Wales, Prince William, Prince of Wales, Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex walk to meet members of the public at Windsor Castle, following the death of Queen Elizabeth II, in Windsor, England, September 10, 2022. I wouldn't do it, even for a flag.

It beggars belief that we will declare some big-eared 73 year old English dude head of state, even if just on a symbolic level.

Surely, regardless of how complicated the process might be, we can find our own, local d*ckheads to appoint.
In all seriousness (and sobriety) I fully agree with you. I am very much an anti-monarch republican, and couldn’t care less.

4 day weekend for the Grand Final feels weird

Anyone else think it was weird (sort of bad timing) to have an Aboriginal elder welcoming everyone to Indigenous land etc and then (AFL) ask everyone witness a minute silence to respect the Queen’s passing?

Let me see, from left to right:

leech, sponger, parasite and bludger (and all interchangeable)

If Meghan is the bludger, which one is a quaffle? And the golden snitch?

Utterly ridiculous. A welcome to country followed by an honouring of the deceased head of the colonial empire who dispossessed Indigenous people of said country.

Many near where I was sitting neither remained silent nor standing. At least they didn’t flipping play God Save the ____

Not true, she could have topped herself at any point in the last 96 years.

Accidentally posted in this thread. F***.

Deleted. Your reply was too quick. F*** it.

But yes, her timing wasn't well mannered.

plus followed by the singing of the national anthem.
plus two tribes 90,000 Collingwood supporters and a few dozen Freo fans coming together to watch a game of footy.

It was all a strange juxtaposition …

… but for me the overwhelming sense of that ceremony was about how far we have become a complex society.

We can see that, VP. 'Dancing on the grave' of a 96-year-old great-grandmother is more your style.

I thought I tiptoed.

Sad to see anyone pass, but she was just another elderly person who, in this case, had a very good innings.
