Combined Teams

Here is an interesting idea. Combined teams for rivals so

Collingwood/Carlton
Essendon/Hawthorn
West Coast/Fremantle
Sydney/GWS
Brisbane/Gold Coast
Adelaide/Port Adelaide
Geelong/North Melbourne
Western Bulldogs/Melbourne
Richmond/someone I can't remember
We have a stronger rivalry with Richmond than the Dogs. MCG co-tenants + Anzac Day eve looks like it will become a set fixture.

My 3peat Team (Players had to have been available from the start, to the finish of the premierships):

FB Josh Gibson Mal Michael Brian Lake
HB Chris Johnson Justin Leppitsch Grant Birchall
C Nigel Lappin Michael Voss (c) Luke Hodge (vc)
HF Cyril Rioli Jonathan Brown Jason Akermanis
FF Craig McRae Alastair Lynch Jarryd Roughead
R Clark Keating Simon Black Sam Mitchell
Int Luke Power Shaun Burgoyne Daniel Bradshaw, Jordan Lewis

Roughead would be the 2nd ruck.

Emg: Chris Scott, Martin Pike and Jack Gunston

Brisbane:13
Hawks: 9

I'm sure that number would be flipped somehow if a hawks fan did their team:thumbsu: Good luck beating that team in a final though!

It'd be interesting to see how a Carlton/Essendon side would go in 2016 with both teams being remarkably bad.

FB:Weitering - Jamison - Baguley
HB:Goddard - Rowe - Tuohy
C: Simpson - Cripps - Z.Merrett
HF:Zaharakis - Casboult - Everett
FF: M.Brown - Daniher - Thomas
R: Kruzer/Luenberger - Murphy - Gibbs

IC: Walker - Docherty - Gleeson - Bird

Jesus, two teams and you really still can't build a forward line...

Collingwood and Geelong

FB: Enright Taylor Williams
HB: Bartel Henderson Guthrie
C: Duncan Pendulbury Caddy
HF: Sidebottom Cloke Swan
FF: Motlop Hawkins Elliot
R: Blivcas Joel Selwood Dangerfield
INTER: Grundy Adams Treloar Crisp

EMG: Aish Greenwood Scott Selwood

I don't think the Dogs and Melbourne have a rivalry at all, we must have been the two left over teams.

Had a quick go at a combined side anyway.

Wood Dunn Boyd
JJ McDonald Murphy
Vince Jones Macrae
Dickson Hogan Dahlhaus
Garlett Stringer Crameri

Gawn Libber Bonti

Viney Wallis Tyson Garland

Done quickly, no doubt missing players. Gawn will have to ruck all day. Only forwards who can also back up in the ruck I could think of were Pederson and Boyd who are not exactly definite best 22 in their own sides, let alone a combined side. To many inside mids on the bench. Needs work haha

You'd leave out vandenBerg? They've locked up people for less heinous crimes :D

Valid point on second ruck. You'd have to pick someone, but none of the main candidates exactly pick themselves. I'd like to say Frost but he continues to underwhelm as a forward. I don't know why we are persisting with it when he's clearly a defender. But I digress.

Collingwood and Geelong

Bliscavs is not a ruckman. One of Grundy, Witts, Smith or Stanly would have been a much better option. At most he is a backup who does the last 5 or so minutes each quarter

A fully fit Ben Reid would add a lot to that side.

Essendon/Hawthorn

Frawley - Hurley - Stratton
Burgoyne - Hooker - Gibson
Smith - Hodge - Merrett
Gunston - Roughead - Watson
Rioli - Daniher - Breust
Luenberger - Heppell - Mitchell

Goddard, O'Meara, Shiels, Parish

Wanted Baguley in there as I rate him highly but Stratton is just too good in the same role.

GWS/Bulldogs

Morris - Davis - Boyd
Wood - Haynes - Shaw
Coniglio - Liberatore - Scully
Macrae - Cameron - Dahlhaus
Greene - Lobb - Stringer
Mumford - Bontempelli - Ward

Johanissen, Hunter, Deledio, Shiel

Essendon/Hawthorn

I'd go

FB: Stratton - Hooker - Gibson
HB: Birchall - Hurley - Burgoyne
C: Smith - Heppell - Zaharakis
HF: Gunston - Roughead - Hodge
FF: Rioli - Daniher - Breust
R: Luenberger - Mitchell - Merrett

IC: Watson - Shiels - Fantasia - O'Meara/Goddard

Frawley is easily good enough to be in the side but the defence would just be needlessly tall

how about

victorian teams vs interstate

Vic: Carlton, COllingwood, Essendon, Geelong, Hawthorn, Melbourne, Norf, Richmond, Stkilda, and WB

VS

Interstate: Adelaide, Brisbane, Fremantle, Gold Coast, GWS, Port, Sydney and West Coast

comeone someone try it

Sooo much talent.

Interstate:

Apologies to lots of players, particularly Talia, I've played midfielders and Tom Lynch across the half back line because I couldn't fit them into the team otherwise. This team would smash the vic team IMO.

B: H. Shaw (GWS) McGovern (WCE) Rampe (Syd)
HB: Coniglio (GWS) Lynch (GCS) Sloane (Ade)
C: Hannebery (Syd) Kennedy (Syd) Parker (Syd)

5 x WCE
5 x SYD

1 x PA
1 x Bris

VICS:

Looks significantly weaker to me.

Big(Bottom) Four Ie Carlton Collingwood Essendon Richmond

B: Howe Rance Weitering
HB: Docherty Hurley Simpson
R: Grundy Martin Treloar
C: Sidebottom Pendlebury Gibbs
HF: Cotchin Daniher Fasolo
F: Elliot Riewoldt Lloyd
Interchange: Cripps Merrett Murphy Reid
3 Essendon, 6 Carlton, 8 Collingwood, 5 Richmond
Wanted one KPP swingman on the bench but was tossing up between Reid and Hooker, went with Reid purely because of Hooker's one year absence from footy.
Unlucky: Hooker, Watson, Heppell, Adams
