Pretty funny - Caro now trying to make Clarko as some out of control dog who needs leadership after pushing Amarfio aside. Lloyd bringing up the soft cap discussion despite Viney explaining it on 3AW when he asked about it, to which at the time obviously he had nothing to say.

You can just tell they want to put a negative spin on hiring clarko. Big contrast to how the non-biased and no bull$h!t ex-coach plays it straight down the line with his comments.

Shocked that Ross was the voice of reason. Maybe Caro is right and Amarfio is on the outer, but she could just as easily be adding 2 + 2 and getting 5 in that regard. Probably on purpose too.
Then there's the bullshit about both the soft cap and bringing in players. They were umming and ahhing saying we would have to pay 1.4m to land clarko but that it would be worth it, but now that it's reported as 300k lower it's an issue? And after years of bagging us for not enough senior bodies on the list, they then say that getting them in is useless?
If I wasn't such a lazy campaigner I'd get out the video editing software and mash together clips from previous episodes and publish them as Footy Contradicted. God I hate the football media, Hutchy's empire most of all.

So sick of Caro's targeted bullshit - how many other club CEO's are talked about the way ours is? GWS, West Coast, St Kilda, GCS - all performing terribly on AND off the field for years, never hear about their CEO's, I doubt many could even name them. Why the focus on Amarfio when our off field has never been stronger? And we now have Clarko / Viney to sort footy.
Of course Amarfio had to lead priority pick discussions - we didn't have a coach. We now do so makes sense footy dept can continue the work. It's not bloody hard to work out.
Would love to know what Caro's issue is with Amarfio and our club....

So he's meeting with the assistant coaches today and all but the ones who've already been let go are staying.
I think she might, her feminism trumps everything else. Surely she’s not that much of a hypocrite? She would be gutted.
Not when it came to Hardwick, this is the problem.
I would actually respect her if she was consistent.

It is a bit of a concern, Clarko does have form at Hawks with Exec / Board offside and is well known for some anger management issues. Let's not forget he was paid a years salary ($900K?) to not come to work after winning them 4 flags- who knows how bad his behaviour was for that to happen.
He's a great pick up for us for his footy acumen but will need strong leadership - the Board will need to ensure he leads the footy department and not the business, we have an Executive team doing an outstanding job on all off field matters, he needs to stay with his strengths and focus on our onfield performance.
If the Board give him power beyond that, it would be incredibly weak (who's in charge here?) and we will be in for one bumpy ride. He needs to be contained (even he said so) - giving him power to throw his weight around is like giving the kids the keys to Cadburys. I actually think the whole appointment will fail if that happens.
We need stability now, time to put heads down and get to work - the future is bright, bring on '23!

Yes Lloyd is right but wrong. Should we land a few of the mentioned players, it buys us time with the handful plus of youngsters that have shown moments of AFL ability upper end ability I mean. They can learn their craft at VFL level without getting belted around at senior level.
I am talking Powell, Comben, Goater, Bergman & Archer.
Once we get a settled side that is pushing for finals and I said this every year for five bloody years, FA's of note will become interested in joining our club.
Trading in a star via the draft is very expensive, how the Eagle going with T.Kelly or us with Colbert, Carlton with Judd etc.
We need to bide our time. But it will be time well bided.

None of this would be discussed if he was at * or GWS.

Another bonus with Clarko is that he has the clout and balls to put the media in its place. I hope he exercises this often in the coming years.

I thought it was more to do with him not wanting to go beyond 2022 combined with Sam Mitchell being next in line, so they did the handover a year earlier so they didn’t lose him.
